Video not visible if there's meant to be one. I suspect you're right about going all the way in. Will inspect saw in daylight and scale the photo of the seating tool to see if that gives any hints.

I wasn’t clever enough to do that.
  4. I gave up on technical clothing a few years ago. Replaced it with occasionally suffering or more usually working less hard.
  5. I imagine Les’s wife match funds whatever his employer pays for nights away.

    Chain storage

I have a few of those executive business card, notebook etc holders that nobody wants so they're free. One for each chain (12" 1/4 picco, 16" 3/8 picco, 25" 3/8). Get three or four chains in each, which is enough for me. 36" 3/8 are too big for them so they're just in an A4 big jiffy bag, milling ones in the milling box. I'd have a better (probably toolboox) setup if I changed chains more often. I'm pretty good at keeping clean though.

    Overloaded

Magnificent boot though. What car is it?
  9. Four reel ends from FR Jones for £35. One of the first things I bought in arb. The 8m bit was my big lanyard for years. It’s a rare job where this longer bit doesn’t come through for a bit of crotch-butt action.
  10. Headset comms might be the most important advance in tree work this quarter century but they’re ruining rugby. Slows it right down. The referees are basically inquisitive judges on teams calls.
  11. England v Wales much more entertaining than Ireland v Italy already. Having forwards makes a big difference.
  12. I bought it new.
  13. Drop the Dead Donkey was great. Still haven't watched the reboot. I make the, "I'm not here." reference every time I'm hovering over someone about to do make a mistake that's theirs to make.
  14. Rough old bit of three strand I’ve been meaning to do for the last decade or so. Not sure why I made the eye so big. Something spoke to me.
  15. I need to get into the habit of going to a pub because I'll never find out games are on otherwise.
  16. **************** any of these coddled modern fag assertions of negative press btw. Same with guns. "I think you're confusing me with criminals or the drill scene."

Thinking about it, I probably would have worked out the depth myself. Like when the driving gear teeth chewed themselves off.
  19. Too soon? Too close? Should I wait until 09:00 Monday?

Very much obliged. Had worked out the clock. Hadn't spotted the depth requirement. Is the special tool required to get the depth right or can it be pushed in and measured from anything?

    ArbDogs? Pics!

Experiments on the lead this morning. Works for about half an hour before Mecho gets fed up of Sailor dragging him here, there and everywhere. Kept Sailor off the hares for nearly the full walk.
  22. Six month update on the pocket pen. Product proved. Entered into permanent rotation.
  23. Briggs petrol ones? Are you leaving them running so you don't have the ordeal of starting them at your destination? @Ty Korrigan Get in there.

You know what I'd like to accompany me on this journey btw. A workshop/service manual. Stihl are refusing to give it to me because I'm not a dealer. Discouraging user fixing. Aggrieving, not to mention environmentally unsound.

Progress however. Found the oil pump with the help of an esteemed fellow member. It's at the other end of the black pipe the screwdriver has hooked. You thread a bit of rod (M4 I think) into it and pull it out (no slide hammering required). Cleaned and put back but no oiling still. Could be that I need to prime it. Or just replace it. At least I know where it is now. Arbtalk's dead handy isn't it.
