  1. EBay. £40. It’s been bob on with various test weights but probably wouldn’t trust it for aerospace work. Where did Paddy SP go?
  2. Still does the thing on iPhone where if I go from new posts into a thread and then press back, it doesn’t take me back to where I was on the new posts screen, it takes me to the top.
  3. The app still doesn't work.
  4. I’m afraid the answer is primarily lifting logs. Usual gardening. Have a verge to chisel up at some point too.
  5. The dog has a lower density than the log, you see. Whatever happened to john p?
  6. Good question. Best thing I have to do that is a dumpy bag. Sense he wouldn’t enjoy it or stay still enough for a good reading. Occasionally take him down to the pet shop to use their scales. 35 or 37 last time.
  7. Incidentally, 175kg is exactly half of what I lifted the other night for something to do. Just in case anyone should ever feel the need to lift two ash logs the size of several Alsatians.
  8. Checking for nails. Keep up.
  9. 39kg. Stick that up your sciatic nerve, Mick. Bolam takes the win, if you can call it that.
  10. She could have just whistled before I hit a nail in the pallet of course.
  11. I promise this’ll be more interesting when I give the answer. Winner announced at lunch. Prize given on speech day. Lines are still open.
  12. Greenmechs are shit btw. Timberwolf for tow and tracked. TP for PT(O). Schliesing for showing off.
  13. I saw something the other day a little like this. It was an air hose collapsing when warm. Doesn’t feel like a slam dunk answer to your particular problem but something to consider.
  14. You can also do crass things like this if you can’t be bothered to put the grab on or do two trips. I ended up doing two trips.
  15. Mighty micro trailering.
  16. I am because they do. I’ve loads of times told people to slow down, unwrap the rope from their hand, look up etc. Untold crises averted. Whether helping them is a good move is another thing. I’m holistically in favour of the stupid perishing but it can slow down a day when you have a big job on.
  17. Actually yes. Mum and dad held the ladder and kicked in chocks for a few minutes each. Or I could have shouted at them over a 661 instead.
  18. Chainsaw milling. Bloody awful.
  19. I’m sure this is an absolute scorcher of a ribbing, Mick but I’m too young, good looking and sexually vital to get it.
  20. There’s nothing boring about safety.
  21. Don’t just take my word for it. Try them for a relatively tiny sum of money. I wouldn’t claim that they cure common colds and make your wife’s breasts 20% perkier but they really are everything I proselytise. You can so easily see something about to happen 50m away and stop it. “Your bar tip’s through and there’s a brick ten inches from it.” “The pull rope is about five feet from you in that mess.” ”Look left.” ”I’m behind you, woody paul. Don’t swing that hedgecutter round.” etc
  22. Plus I can show what a clever dick I am with the ratchet straps rather than the standard spool and bar. It’s way nicer. The standard spool flops around and wants to crush your fingers and it’s heavy and pinned on. Ratchets are far more friendly and can be spread around kitbags etc to spread the carrying burden. And there’s no bar to lose on site. No small thing. I also suspect the two lower (principal) ratchets suck it on tighter than the spool. There are two, like how two wedges, hit alternately are better than one. And the spindle radius is smaller on ratchets unless you have all the spool strap out on a massive tree. Same reasoning as the Smartwinch strap.
  23. That thought had occurred. As had that it was only a picture of a suitcase. Let’s see if this fires anyone up. What does it weigh?
  24. Do you use comms?
