  3. Yes another good one my mate a 3.0 diesel auto for 8 years it pulled like a train he put 350.000 trouble free miles on it and then part ex'd it for another later one etc and he still see's his old motor towing a horse box about to this day
  4. anything thats come from a tree i just mix it softwood for getting it going as already said and then burn anything i put my hand on so i've not got piles of hardwood & piles of softwood etc if its wood and its dry/seasoned burn it and keep warm jobs a goodun >> nice PS my dog loves softwood too
  5. 3.0 ltr diesel came out same year as mine 1997 i think!!. Its got all the same stuff as the 3.0 i think its called a mark II dash grill lights airbags etc mines totally standard from new as when i bought it took it for its first mot when it was 3 years old etc its had lots of waxoil over the years and regular chassis checks cleaning protection to the cavities etc. I never thought i would keep a car so long but its been no trouble so why fix it if its not broken there are some 3.0ltr to 3.1 conversions out there too but as already said if all the recall work has been carried out it should be fine with a 3.0 lump in

  9. mines got a alko axle fitted bamford tank n pump and fitted a 5 1/2 jcb 3d ram as its and upgraded ram like a jcb 3c but stronger and a thicker chrome rod its a slower ram pushing but faster return as its got less oil to displace because of the thicker rod etc 11hp honda & i set pressures a bit lower as its very strong and worried it would self destruct even though its got twin I beams welded together i use to flex them downwards when it was running 3300 psi so got it running at about 2800/3000 psi now
  10. its never let me down so far" not had one breakdown yet & its not the fastest but it does bust through all the knotty stuff all day long i've left it looking tatty so it does'nt attract attention so other folk think they have the rite to make it theirs
  11. and this when i was building it outside my back door lol
  12. what sort of warranty does dolmar/makita do compared to say echo >>> also do they do a saw that would replace a 880 or 395/3120 etc and doeswould it blow the socks off these models in comparison
  13. :thumbup1::thumbup1: iv'e got some echo hedge clippers and there quite good pssssssssssst not many models No's named with the brand name say best echo for logging or best felling saw that will take say 25/28 bar ????????
  14. thats how i made mine and also used forklift forks cut up for the cutting/splitting blade and the bits of fork that mount on the carrage i cut down and used them as the push plate because the fork mounts have a claw like mounting thats ideal to use as a guide on the i beam/girder mines horizontal too facing to the rear i can even park a wheel barrow under the splitter too and the exhaust gases have them blowing away in oposit direction i mounted my hyd control valve in the center above the ram so i can use it from anyside etc
  15. now thats funny i thought jonsered was a h copy and was owned by h at one time and i did,nt know electrolux had anything to do with chainsaws
  16. just shows how out of touch ia'm i thought dolmar was finished
  17. As you know some of arbtalk members are only weekend firewood chainsaw users like myself etc and if moneys are/was tight and stihl n husky didnt exsist and never have etc what would you be using today and advising others to buy for there own needs say a decent saw for felling and a good all round logging saw inc a climbing saw for you climbers i'am hoping this post will help others to choose other than husky/stihl who cant justify having a fortune invested in a saw sat on the garage shelf etc remember no stihl or husky words lol
