I was watching a demo at the Arb show yesterday & the guy got a lock jack and put a length of rope with stop knots in & a Prussic inbetween his harness & lock jack so you can pull from under , but also used a pantin on the tail to aid making the set up shorter for branch walking & longer for long climbs , does anyone have anymore info/ pics on this set up ?? Also would it work on spider jack ? Thanks John

  3. V12 climbing shop sometimes have dmm cosmetic seconds Personally I don't think climbing gear is that expensive & I like to have good kit that makes the job safe & enjoyable ..

  5. Today's job!!! Big ish pop with 50ft of ivy& climbing rose to hack through before we can dismantle !!! God I hate ivy & rose ain't much better
  6. Yamaha fzr1000 exup 91 plate I've just done up , use to have one first time out , still a fast bike just abit more of a lump compared to new stuff ,

Crown seems ok , it's got a good stem but with a high crown , no lower limbs , didn't see any die back , but sticking point is its a nice tree but with all that weight leaning over the road the roots & truck will need to be found to be sound otherwise it's days will be numbered just on the risk factor , the cracking & colour difference on the trunk is worrying ,
  8. Maybe , I thought maybe damaged when past building work had gone on , some machine operators seem drawn to hitting trees ..
  9. The customer wants to keep it , because of the location needs peace of mind that its safe ... It's very busy traffic wise .. Waiting for tpo conformation .. Wouldn't say over phone !!!

I look at this beech today , it has some old damage on the lower trunk & some bark cracks , it's a good size with lean towards the road , going to get it scanned to get a picture of any decay , some fungi was noted on root area but none present at the minute ... Any opinions / past cases of similar examples .. Thanks John
  11. Yesterday's poplar job , the last two had been burnt alittle when some kids torched some nearby cabins !!

  14. Gareth worked with us on a large horse chestnut dismantle the other day , nice lad , worked hard and was on the ball with what's needed to work safety & get the job done ...
  15. Sweet chestnut we dismantled today , nice size . we did a horse chestnut nr it the day before which was a similar size but more stems & abit more rigging ..

  19. Sherco 290 trials bike 2011 ... Good bike been mostly doing club trials on it untill it was stolen from my mates building ( Kh hire leyland) at Xmas No covered by any contents insurance so I've lost best part of £3500
