  1. It should say 8.25 ton i think, that a 7.5 tonner and a 750kg trailer behind.
  2. Hi, Anyone going to the Royal welsh Show next week ? I'll be there Monday and Tuesday with a couple of colleagues doing a rigging demo on the 'Focus on forestry first' stand in the forestry section. Feel free to come and have a chat and ask any questions. See you there, Rob.
  3. Hi Martin, I'm at the show Monday and Tuesday doing rigging demo's on the 'focus on forestry first' stand which i believe is in the forestry section. We'll have to meet up and have a chat. Rob.
  4. Hama's right about working for the corp, they are the best employers ever, best kit and you get what you need. This would be my dream job and if i still lived in the London area i would apply for sure. Bit of a commute from west Wales !
  5. Don't remove too many in one hit, remember that the trees need these branches for their food production unless they are dead ones. Upto 60' seems a bit extreme.
  6. I'd agree with most of the coments above, pick a spot to start and away you go just keep at them and your get it. Good luck.
  7. Hi Tarek, Where abouts in the uk are you ? At the Royal Welsh show next week there is going to be a rigging demo on the Focus on forestry first stand on Monday.
  8. Hi Mate, its for Chris Hughes from mwmac. He wanted a rigging demo done and asked me at the BS3998 seminar if i fancied doing it. I'll give it go but i'm sure people might take the piss at some point. Thought it would be good advertising and good pr for us all. Not sure i'll go down to well with the gogs with my accent !

  9. Ouch ! They have gone up aswell then, looks like i'm in for a shock again.
  10. A couple of years back they started sending them out with the certs, not sure if they still do it.
  11. Before you go at it with your tool of choice, keep an eye out for any cables (BT, power or sky TV) running up the building behind the ivy.
  12. Brought some .22's for my ruger the other day, shocked how much they had gone up in price. I know they cost a few quid but i use remington 75grain v-max in my sako 75 .243, they are the best rounds i've ever used !
  13. Ditto the above comments, a great turnout and a super day, thanks to all involved who arranged the day. Also thanks for the people who showed an interested in helping giving the Wales branch of the AA a bit of a relaunch. Rob.
  14. I'm in Carmarthen on the 6th, Anyone else ?
  15. Hi, Some of the early hs75 had problems with the gearbox in the heads, i think it was the ones that turn 0-90 degrees. Stihl recommend a complete new head instead of trying to fix them if they break.
  16. Hi, Had no problems with my alloy bashlins, light and hard wearing.
  17. I've used most brands over the years but these are the ones i have had alot of experience with - Greenmech, brilliant tracking power but crap chipping quality. Timberwolf, not bad all round but could do with slighty heavier gauge build quality. Jensen, Best chipping power as far as i'm concerned, could do with a bit more tracking power.
  18. Happy birthday Hama, been carping much ?
  19. Hi Janey, I had the same situation just last week with 3 roadside trees owned by the National Trust. Popped in and spoke to the site manager and he was really interested in what i had to say and wanted me to show him what i had found etc. I did think twice about saying anything and i didnt want to come across as a busy body but i thought that at the end of the day if i found out that someone had been hurt by these trees and i had not done anything about it how would i feel then. I'd make some further enquiries as to who owns them and maybe speak to someone higher up in the chain.
  20. Got the info pack today, you have to be 14.5 stone max. I'm 15.5 and i dont see myself losing a stone in 2 months, so that's me out, sorry guys.
  21. Very intresting, i never knew these trail's was carried out, like you say Tony it's one of the best kept secrets.
  22. Hi Robert, As the willow is only small i would not worry about the above points too much, yes they can cause problems with drains but only if the pipe has a crack or hole in it already. The roots wont just grow towards the pipe and break into it themselves. As regards the foundations of the house, the type of soil that you are on mades a differance. Where in the country are you ?
  23. I was on a canal boat trip with school, stopped at Rickmansworth that night and remember waking up think the boat was bumping about a bit. In the morning there were trees down across the canal in both directions. Got the train back home (croydon) the day after. It wasnt just the odd tree down, they were everywhere. Every road, every park and woodland just looked so different.
  24. There a guy near New quay that makes sheds, maybe he could make a playhouse if you asked. If you want i'll sort out the number.
  25. I think you have to get a min of £390
