  4. yes i know thats why i said it was one of the last ERS policy renewals i got ! they warned me then that they were having difficultys finding an underwriter for comercial vehicles ! may have to try the NFU again but everytime i have they always wanted more or wouldnt cover me for such and such this or that ! lol they even told me at the age of 25 i shouldnt be driving a 200tdi landrover even when i was working on a farm at the time !! ha ha ha
  5. mone doubled in december with them im one of the last equity red star policys they did ! mind you mine was due to the trailer writing a saab off ! will be interesting to see what happens in december this year

  10. its a redneck hillbilly birth control machine lol
  11. ah incinerators that provide power and heat would be good for distric heating too ! and more recycling then least we would be on the right track and wasting of food just cause its not looking like the perfect potato/ fruit etc there natural they grow weirdly but taste the same !

  14. Umm maybe lol i live in a tied cottage and have a small yard / garden 60 foot long and 40 feet wide and there are 7 landrovers one chassis a16foot ifor a mini digger and a digger trailer and various other stuff oon it im not a nut honest ! lol
  15. Bearmach springs are the same price if not cheeper than landrover ones and like i said i have them on my 110 and bben there 10+ years still good ! the 130 and 110 rears are a larger diameter than the 90 or rangerover ones and there fore dont fit ! A 130 with genuine or aftermarket springs and assister springs that are the correct ones for the 3500kgs GVW will be fine ! antirollbars help no oend the right age you can get fron ARB too ! How do i know all this well only ever owning and running LRs fro all my driving life and working on many at work and for friends and colegues you tend to learn stuff ! Also i guess it helps that me and my best mate rebuilt his 130 from ground up including the engine gearboxes and basicly most of it onto a new chassis with the above suspention and converting it from dropdside to full three way tipper with engine driven independant hydraulics may have given me some backgrond to these reccomendations/ findings from beoing out there and doing it ! Oh and said 130 was cover fetured on an issue of LRM mid last year David
  16. My best mates 130 tipper we built we used Bearmach hevyduty blue 130 rears and standard landrover 130 helpers inside them this combination works really well he is often upto full weight on and off road and this has proved it self he does lots of towing too ! i use just the heavy duty 130 bearmach springs on my 110 and hell that takes a pounding too you get about 40 mm of lift with these or should i say the landrover stays higher than the sag with standard springs ! David
  17. Snow white and tree fellas lol
  18. Yup tis one of those that you hate to think about ! mind oyu he was a good cop as i had an incident with my trailer and a saab and lack of attachment to the 90 and the traffic officer turned up and i was telling him the regulations lol !
  19. A friend and his father who run a company working on fsarms all over had to have both the landcrusiers and his 130 tachoed after he got pulled by vosa ! his brother with there pickup and caravan they were not interested in lol he got a prohibition notice enforced with a time delay for him to get home then he had to rectify the issues and show this had been done before they could carry on he spent 3 - 4 hours stopped with Vosa and the police and he said they were very heplfull it was nerve wracking at first but once into it they were helpfull and he was let on way home with the notices to come into effect oce he was back at base !~ And im glad to read im not the only one to know about the issue with trailers plated to carry more than the tow vehicle is rated to being illegal
  20. as said aricultral is legal front trailer only loaded there is also a length limit and brakes and lights and iirc a speed reduction too ! i once brought two artic trailers with a mate with two close coupled also 6 miles down the road and back lanes ! tis interestng two four wheel trailers close coupled behind tractor turns take some thinking about if you dont wanna right off waiting cars or beach yourself in the hedge / roadside furniture/mables front garden !!!
  21. im insured to dig down to 3 meters can go five if i want to up premium just have to scan before digging ! they insure my digger too ! ring them talk to cameron simon or rudy
  22. trust for everything here ! PLmachinery and vehicles ! the guys in the office are great all helpfull evreytime i need to talk to them!
  23. for the purposes of this post Heating oil is Kerosene not gas oil Other than being illegal to use its a 28 second oil where as diesel is 35 second oil there for the diesel has a higher viscosity and therfore the lighter heating oil burns at a higher temperature it also lacks the lubricity of diesel so ( and i know many people will say they do it and its fine) the higher temperature may cause premature head gasket failure or cylinder wall failure i e porous blocks ! also higher temps are not good for the engine generaly ! the lack of lubricity will cause premature wear of the fuel systems mainly the injection pump and the injectors. i know of people who have over come these issues by puting a pint of two stroke to the tank full of kero to reduce the burn temp and to get the lubricity back into the fuel ! i know i wouldnt do it i have seen the effects ! but horses for courses etc the Vosa men and the old bill are pretty good at fuel recognition nowadays gone are the days it would have been put dip pot in oh ok its not red on you go ! lol !
