  1. Thats a 'NO' to the official website links then
  2. Can the well informed people on this thread please provide me with the UK government website links that list out exactly how I can receive these big payments from the UK for being resident unemployed in the UK please? I ask this question in sincerity as over here in France the .gouv websites provide very clear details of what can be claimed for any individuals circumstances and it falls well short of what the UK media (according to you lot) present - I don't watch UK TV. It avoids the 'trial by tv/tabloid' and 'fame by tv/tabloid' that seems to be occurring in the UK. I might be tempted to return with my family of 7 kids... NOT
  3. I've got a Sorby draw knife (bought when I had some money), used it for years on green woodworking projects and still not taken a stone to it, the edge is sublime.
  4. Here here. Turkey's really do vote for xmas so it would seem. (Not that the other crowd would of made a difference sadly)
  5. Nah, there's one single family got them beat by a long long way in the UK.:lol::lol::lol:
  6. Love it. Nice to see a proper carver post his work rather than simply comment on others.
  7. What a boring formulaic response, you might learn something if you listen to him and research. Instead its the same old same old; "First they ignore you then they laugh at you..." (you can find the rest if you capable of using google)
  8. Not within the EU though Stubby - although you already knew that, I know. Think like a migrant (that should get some backs up on this site:001_rolleyes:...) or like an expat, and you can reduce your upfront purchase costs - it goes both ways depending on the exchange rate. However you obviously need to balance that with service/backup/spares blah blah blah yawn... Its all still a rip off IMO
  9. Yes. In marketing terms it is called "what the market will stand". Here in France that saw is retailing for the same price in Euros which makes it at least 37% more expensive in the UK. Have a summer holiday in France (which would also be 37% cheaper) and bring one back
  10. What about "damn" and "arse"?? I keep seeing these words posted too (not by you egnsean) They also offend my liberal values but what's is the difference?
  11. Its called 'trickle up economics' i.e. privatise the profits, socialise the losses. it's not logical, more ideological:lol:
  12. As the 6th richest country on the planet, that does not bode well:blushing:
  13. Whilst I do not agree with the sentiment, I have to agree with the point you are making. There seems to be a serious case of double standards on this thread. The majority appear to support the ideas of "free enterprise, get off your backside and work, don't envy the wealthy, find your own way to riches, blah blah blah" (paraphrased naturally but that is the sentiment boiled down). Why is this sentiment now not appreciated just because it is in the public sector? The tories profess to want free enterprise across the board and a shrunk down state, that means private health services as far as I can see and what some have stated about agency staff proves it. It will all go that way - the only big thing left to sell off is the health service. As Tebbit said "get on your bike" (and join the agency staff if you really believe in 'free enterprise')
  14. Like it a lot. Thanks for posting. What is the finish, oil?
  15. Central banks NOT high street banks
  16. Yes, completely. Do you know what quantitive easing is??? It's not backed by gold. Clue, its backed by debt - the debt our childrens childrens childrens are going to be paying off. Alternatively read up on 'Ponzi' schemes, its what the whole system is based on. I should have added, its been that way of quite a while but all the time we had a system based on continual growth it was invisible. Now we are in a period of prolonged contraction it has become obvious.
  17. No you just need to do some research instead of believing what you are told by the "idiot box" and the papers.
  18. Your forgetting the 1 key thing; the money supply has been privatised. Under the current system It is impossible to pay back the debt, the debt will only keep on growing, your children and your children's children add infinitum are doomed to suffer austerity no matter what you or I do. The point is, you are not supposed to pay back the debt. The debt is the means of control, the control of everything. You really DO need to understand properly what Iceland have done.
  19. Reading it again 24 hours later I agree with you all, thanks. My mistake. I will block out 'Mr Toad' and see how he goes.
  20. Ta very much. I didn't think it was that bad. Can see why so few post pictures on this section anymore.
  21. Going in a children's play area. My wife wants me to do Mr Toad from Wind in the Willows but I'm still using a standard bar and chain so don't think I will be able to get the detail.
  22. I read your post and then scrolled down and looked at your "problem". That is a bit of bad luck but also funny. I would simply do a timbernut has suggested. I have just finished a 'minion' and have found a flaw right in the top of the head (beech wood) exactly where I had one before on a 'Hello Kitty' I did a few years ago. Not a visual problem now as I paint them for a kids play area, but I know it will split open in exactly the same place as HK did.
  23. The power unit in my case is on the end of the Husky 327PT5S telescopic pole pruner which is well balanced as a pole pruner but when extended and used with the hedge cutter bar it does get heavy - not so much the weight of the power unit just the hedge cutter unit (which it was not intended for it!!) puts it out of balance on full reach. With the pole pruner no issues as it remains in balance. The proper Husky combi unit you are looking at might offer better balance but I doubt it will reach as far with the hedge cutter attachment, hence me buying the pole pruner and adding the hedge cutter for a longer reach. The power unit is common across several Husky models however and is a good unit. One thing I forgot to mention was that it took a while to 'run in' at least 10 ltrs fuel before it loosened up a bit.
  24. Can't speak for the whole unit but I have the power head/unit in a Husky pole pruner and then add the hedge cutter attachment. Easy to start unit hot or cold, runs very smooth once warmed up and has sufficient power for both applications. I would not be without it.
  25. I have a Husky 327PT5S telescopic pole saw and bought the hedge cutter blade as a spare part off one of the Husky units (i forget which one) to go with it - simple 2 bolt swap over on the heads. Works really well for me but I don't go to full extension with the hedge cutter as the weight/balance becomes difficult. I also know it could result in a broken pole as it is not really designed for the weight of the hedge cutter head.
