  1. Uh, surely that's just obvious!
  2. No, no, no! Bubble and squeak doesn't have cheese in it. Or any other nonsense for that matter. Potato and cabbage, that's what you need. I'm going to start a campaign for real BS! JD's offering certainly looks like a good plate of scoff, but it's not bubble and squeak in my book.
  3. You should reckon on a few percent duty and 20% vat, plus a handling charge of about £10 from the carrier (Parcelforce etc). If it's something small you may not get any charges, but don't bank on it.
  4. Those deployment bags are great, and at that price are a proper bargain. I've just ordered another couple - postage is a bit steep so best to order a few at a time
  5. I'm planning to go on Friday. Got any spare tickets?

  8. Could someone explain for the uninitiated what that means and why it's a bad thing? Ta.

  11. I couldn't find anything there which was a shame. Looks like it's mail order or nothing.

  14. Well, for the record I'd say that the Saturday visit was well worth it although two days would be better. I stayed until 4ish and didn't see anyone packing up, although some of the people manning stands were displaying clear signs of show fatigue!

  16. Was he the guy doing the demos on the Honey Bros stand? He was quite persuasive. I'm not even a climber but I want a Rope Wrench now!

  18. If you do go I can give you a lift back (or both ways) on Saturday if that's any help?
  19. I don't know the answer to that one, but I'll be able to tell you on Sunday!
  20. Yes M23/M25/M40. Could pick you up somewhere near the M23/M25 junction if that's better for you than coming down here.
  21. I'm going to APF on Saturday, leaving Brighton at 6am. Everyone else that I know is going on Thu/Fri so I'll have space if anyone from round here wants a lift.
  22. No chance. Someone might mistake me for a tree surgeon!
  23. I'm looking to buy some basic kit for some casual rec climbing. I've got CS38 but don't have any ambitions to work as a climber. What setup would people recommend? Is a prussic and short strop as taught on the course the most sensible way to go?
  24. I can't help with any work, but I'll be with you at Plumpton in September. I've done one year part time, so I'll be back doing the rest of the first year modules. See you in a few weeks!
  25. I'm on holiday at the Lower Mill Estate on the Cotswolds, and they have a beaver colony here. We went to have a look in the woods to see if we could find any sign of them and this was the first thing we saw. I thought that they only did this in cartoons!

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
