  1. I for one am chuffed that it didnt kick off.

  7. Could have been a piece of Pinus Rigida ( pitch pine) Its also possible the high tempreture of the stove forced the turpentine and resin out without the the oxygen to combust so it solidified on the colder glass.
  8. Another thing to consider is as with most trees shrubs plants ect they may be the same fagus silvatica for example but can vary slightly from area to area, these may have come from different gene pools and as such deal with stresses differently.
  9. Are the branches green if you scratch them with your thumb nail ? Is there a build up of dead wood ? Any coral spot? It could be basal decay, stick the blower in there and check.
  10. Yeah that the one Geoff, shaft drive water cooled boxer engine. Due to the war just ending and alot of aero engineers being out of work.

  12. Took a beech down and had to save a signature that a chaps son had carved in it as a boy, it turned out that he had died and his dad didnt want to see his sons initials logged up and burnt.

  17. Steve whats the point of a thread like this ? The members that stir the crap as Andy correctly put it are probably in their eliment reading comments of how other members are put off posting or even visiting alltogether. Is a thread like this meant to bring us all together or seal the fate of membets that are in 2 minds wheather to login.

  20. Another forgotten asset is the vast amount of old long forgotton threads that the search button hides. A thread about tipples that I posted in yesterday was about 3 years old.If people just login and veiw todays post they are missing out on so much. Im not about to spit my dummy out because of the few Im here to stay and try in my own way to add to this fantastic resource. Long live arbtalk and all who sail in her

  24. I think the forum is spot on and has been for months, maybe I dont read into things to much or take alot of notice on who said what.
  25. I had a 5 inch camon adequate for the area Im in but it drank petrol like a v8, because of tight storage I opted for a 6 inch tracked tw. Id like to have the engineering knowledge to put a diesel camon on electric expanding tracks.
