  2. What machine is it and how many re grinds has the blade had. Any previous damage that was ground out that could have started the crack. I had 3 sets of blades do the same a few years back all brand new and all within a few hours of use, in the end I had an engineer make me 5 sets and he annealed them properly and never had another problem.

  12. Yes and they are fine. The grinder runs at 90 rpm and is water cooled, the jig allows for exact adjustment so its a spot on finish, I can use a stone on the wheel to make it finer and then polish the finish on the leather wheel but cant see the point on the blades, I take more time with knife blades and the results mean most of my matrs have since cut themselves because they were used to blunt knifes.
  13. Aird and co in Brighton
  14. I also use it for chisels and knife blades, Im rubbish with an oil stone so to save time and effort I forked out the money and have'nt regretted it yet.
  15. The grinder was £1000 their jig wss £120.
  16. They are hollow ground and the finish could be mirror finish if I chose.
  17. No worries mate Its important to set the jig just once for each pair and not tinker with the angle as you go, apart from yha that its easy and does get quicker with practice.
  18. No worries mate, it explains why you made a bee line for you throwing axe when eggs introduced me
  19. No probs about the kettle mate I cant start the day unless I have a mug or 2 of tea.
  20. Well what a great couple of days, my 2 girls haven't stopped talking about their adventures, and neither have Sally and I. A few events that spring to mind are watching a small blue tent give birth to mark Bolam this morning after about 5 minutes of labour, at 1point we were sure he was going to be breach but all was well in the end lol. Eggs managed to place his tent within 2ft of the exhaust of a commercial central heating unit but came out alive at 9 even though the vapours around his tent at 7 am made it look like he was having a fry up.oh and thanks for leaving your radio on all night
  21. Nice to meet
