  1. Did you not get the Lantra work book when you started your course. Pole rescue 2 or 3 man. 3 man lower the casualty with a belay system. If you use a karabiner for the false anchor, your instructor should highlight that you are using your rope beyond its recommended bend ratio.

    Fly tipping

I agree. I did speak to the local police, and asked if I was to load it onto my tractor and trailer and tipped it back on there drive would that be OK, Of course the answer was no, it may have been contractors paid to remove it. I mentioned the duty of care and the agreed with that, but not with my remedy.
  14. went up to the climbing site to day, that we used for a recreation climb earlier this year. Some ignorant pratt had fly tipped there old kitchen and the packaging there new kitchen came in. but on the up side I looked through the rubbish and found they had thrown away personal letters as well, with all there details on and a photo ID card, cant wait to phone the council tomorrow.
  15. As if some one would hold up traffic to the extent of causing problems to the EM services. your taking this the wrong way spud. Remember if you carry out tree work over a road with out booking road space you can cause more trouble than you think. May have touched nerve here Delete this thread if you wish Steve.
  16. Just to start the ball rolling. Have any of you tractor drivers got fed up with puling over to let Joe Public past and they don't say thank you. So the next line of cars have to wait until you're in a better mood. 30 odd years ago we used to try to get on the road in our village about 7.50pm to catch all the commuters rushing to catch the train. The competition was to see who could hold up the most cars. the best thing to hold them up was towing a Cambridge ring roll, Any one else do the same.
  17. the reason it is thought that a wood bud is produced behind the fruit bud on one year wood on most varieties, is the fact that the blossom rarely sets and then produces new wood. to prolong the life of spur pruned trees it is necessary to replace the spur clusters periodically. Tip bearers do produce blossom on the tips
