Hi i am doing my cs40/41 this week and would like peoples opinion on what happed today. i was on the ground in charge of lowering a lump of ash, the climber up the tree prepared everying ready to snatch it out. Our instructor warned me that i needed to aware that the timber will almost touch the floor. My capstan was in line to get hit so i asked " is it going hit my capstan " was told yes , so i asked " will that be ok " told yes . Ends up it bent in the entry fairlead bars (stein rc2000). cheers
  4. what about door step trading regulations? i have "cooling off "period on bottom of my quotes. I think that if someone is savy about doorstep trading regs, if you dont offer cooling off period they can refuse t pay and aint a lot you can do about it.

  17. got to agree with what has been said about husqvarna technical trousers, mine arent waterproof and i keep burning holes in them from the exshust. So if i was you i wouldnt bother with them

  19. definitly sure about 4x4 towing trailer (combined weight under 7.5 ton) does not need o lisence because is classed as a dual use viehicle ( on and off road). i checked with my local vosa, so i know i am legal
  20. that defo works, just phoned my local vosa person, and if you only work in a 50km radis from your base (as the crow flies), carry only tools to be used that day. And driving isnt your main job you need a operators lisence if you have a van, but if you use a dual purpose vehicle ( ie 4x4) you dont need o lisence
  21. £15-18 per hour sounds very low for tree work, i charge £15 hour for gardening and thats the going rate in cornwall. And for tree work i charge £25 per hour , i think that is the minimum you can charge and still cover insurance , tools premises....etc
  22. Try Trust insurance
  23. i found trust really good, no height restrictions and they cover me for mowing and strimming
