  2. Hi Steve , my website is very new and for google to rate it well i need lots of one way links ( google doent rate 2 way links). So if i put you a link from my gardening website (wild orchid gardening) to arb talk , will that be ok?

  5. Hi guys, Just done a quote for removing a dead standing oak which is in a conservation area. As it is dead do i still need to contact council planning department for permission to fell? and do i need to replace with a new tree? I know if it were alive i would need to do this but as its dead i am unsure. Thanks for your help
  6. yer stihl aint what it used to be!!!!! my km130 is 1 year old had new carb, coil and breather thing in feul tank. Still is **** so i bourght a new one ( cos have all attachments so am stuck with stihl). I am going to take the old km 130 up to the arb fair to moan at sthil stand, any one else with **** stihl stuff should do same might get there arse in gear to offer 2 year garentee like huski.

    dont wash your ropes in any old washing powder as you may cause damage , and end up with a clean looking weak rope. Use a ph neutral wash power or a rope cleaning product.
  8. nick you could do it on your own in 1 and half hour? incuding clearing stuff from road as you work?
  9. half hour lunch, this was my first job so i didnt want mess it up and took it slow, i'll get faster in time
  10. took 7 hours as i wanted get all my cuts nice and clean, also i only got a baby chipper (camon c150)
  11. yer i did say that removal would be cheaper in the long run, but they like the tree and want it reduced every 2 years

  13. i didnt ask how much the winning quote was, i asked for £175.00 and think that was a fair price for half a day. Yes i am fully insured all my kit is brand new so i didnt think i needed loller testing untill its six months old?
  14. i didnt get the job , but since pictures of work were asked for in exchange for the advice. i am reducing a very very small sycamore on thursday so i will post some pictures of that instead

  16. i work for myself so i will be learning as i go i will do a proper job always though as i aint a cowboy ( would rather spend extra time to work well ) always done this in my gardening business and have a good work reputation . Will put some pics here if i get the job watch this space!!

  18. i charge £120 for gardening but feel it needs to be much more for tree work due to the risks and all the ropes etc... I was thinking of trying £350 a day
  19. Hi guys just newly qualified in tree work, been gardening for years and been asked by customer to do a 30% crown reduction in a 40ft oak. Since is my first job not sure what the daily rate for my labour (excluding costs waste etc..) should be for tree work ? i am in the south west so guess is not as much as in south east. Any ideas much appriciated. cheers aiden

  21. hi, i have to say kensey training is great i just passed my 30/31 with them and there was two of us on the ntpc test and we both passed. Doing my 38/39 with them next. good luck
