  1. I think that's the recommended method. Works for me every time!
  2. Well that lovely reduction was a waste of time, fell it grind it and replant it. What's the best time of year to plant a conifer right between my greenhouse and my swimming pool?
  3. I think you have to split it but not at the tank, pull the engine out the side and the carb comes with it, there's a hidden bolt down by the exhaust somewhere and possibly another elsewhere.. Been a while since I did it! The handle will have to come off though. I'm sure spud or one of the big guys will point you in the right direction..!
  4. Had another go today, not a huge stack but quite high on a big rock!
  5. In the night garden Gardenkit!? Those stones were heavy! The single one was about as much as I could move!
  6. I've done it before, using bio oil to be kind to the fishies, with an old bar and chain, although I can't see the bar overheating underwater. I was once part of a job which involved chain sawing from a kayak.. We did dunk a 361 that day!
  7. Here's my attempts, at a place known as stone stack bay.. Can't claim to have done all of these, here is the whole bay: . Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. Found a pretty impressive tree house type thing today, I was impressed by the hugely over extended limbs that were resting on the ground.
  9. Found this today.. In need of slight tlc? With a chipper too!
  10. Brilliant looking truck! I hope it pays for itself nice and quickly! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  12. Good little bit of magic there! Would the retrieval line have to be rated? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Today's job, try and get this ready for an MOT! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Habitat creation / veteranisation - the local tree officer loves it! We've done loads of coronet cuts and monoliths on site. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Felled some leggy larch and spruce this morning, this afternoon we put a "lightning strike" into an oak tree, burned/blackened with a blowtorch to minimise occlusion. What do you think? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Fair one, looked like a nice takedown! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. It's certainly a very impressive tree! Did you see the large fallen holm oak that was nearby? It had some fairly old school bracing.... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. Watch your split tail when you're back cutting those bigger lumps, quite easy to melt with a chainsaw exhaust! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Went for the first time today, been swung towards getting an Alaskan mill! And the missus loved the kids entertainers on the unicycles! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Mine pretty much vibrated itself apart, but it kept going! Strong old saws! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. I'll be there on Sunday. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. I like target, as likeitorlumpit said, they are objects that the tree could damage if it failed (playground/carpark/shed ect...) Targets being present necessitates the need for works to be carried out. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Thanks for that Tony, it's good to know it wasn't just a botched reduction for the sake of work creation! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
