  1. Anything with Thorns !!! Especially Blackthorn.
  2. 10 Most Magnificent Trees in the World. Some amazing ones here.
  3. Agreed , a 10/11cm quickdraw sling would be charming in that set-up.
  4. Keep your eye on Ebay for some basic Klein , Bashlin or Buckingham straight steels.
  5. http://www.treebuzz.com/pdf/climbing_hitches.pdf
  6. Like this ??? How to Tie Knut Hitch: How to Tie Hitch Knots | eHow.com Not seen that before , can't really see the application for for climbing.
  7. No problem mate , your welcome. Be worth anyone else using a flipline with VT/pulley etc set-up checking for that.
  8. Surely the eye of the flip line would jam in the pulley ? Have you tried it ?
  9. Regular straight steel buckinghams with cast alloy caddie/caddy pads here. Super comfy.
  10. Sorry to wander off topic slightly but do you still use a cut away ?
  11. Afraid not , it comes fitted to the flipline.
  12. Just treated myself to a new Yale Maxi-Sport with ISC 3-way snap and ISC mini rope grab. Couldn't be more pleased. I can't rate the ISC 3-way snap enough , i use one on my strop also. Brilliant bit of kit.
  13. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/climbers-talk/17852-straight-v-twisted-spikes-2.html That may help , I've climbed on both and found the only difference comfort , the twisted shanks hurt like hell personally but i'm sure plenty of peeps climb on both.
  14. More like Spruce Forsyth with a chin that big Brash Jensen Husky Thats me spent.
  15. Boots in the house by the radiator so any moisture dries out every night. Not in the garage , back of the van or porch. -5 Steel toe caps take some warming up with body heat alone. Also going to vouch for a thin pair of socks with a good quality pair of thick socks on top , i favour Merino wool socks.
  16. Hello all, Been a member for a few weeks now and done lots of reading but though i'd finally say 'Hey'. Jim

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
