  1. Thanks Geoff, back in the land of the living after a post meal snooze:thumbup:
  2. Very likely but had better sober up a little first
  3. Thanks lads, looks like I will be busy in the New Year!
  4. Do it before lunch, alcohol and fine engineering don't go together:001_rolleyes:
  5. Had exactly the same on one I had in, I think a couple had broken and it was the top one that was the kill wire earth mount (from memory). I drilled out the broken part and helicoiled and then fitted a conventional threaded bolt rather than a self tapping screw!
  6. Thanks, it is the sort of service I aim to give and glad the saw is still working well:thumbup:
  7. Ah, Mais oui:lol: I do a bit of French...........mainly vino:blushing:
  8. Hope the wife doesn't see all this praise - she would say..."don't encourage him"
  9. Yes, Will Shakespear to my friends:lol: Hope you enjoy your new toys, I guess you already have a prime spot on that bench of yours for them:001_rolleyes: My workshop is beginning to go the same way:lol: I find myself putting tools back in their place now:thumbup:
  10. Quelle Surprise Monsieur Barrie, and what else would you supply as a prize:lol: Could do with a can so fingers crossed:thumbup:
  11. Should be OK on that front as the workshop is in my home so they will need to fight and I can get awfully angry:sneaky2:
  12. Nice...."plug" Barrie, hope the "insert" on this "thread" gives you a dodgy cylinder:lol: Hope the new toys work well:thumbup:
  13. Thanks Barrie, the last two months have been bonkers, will be nice to let it all settle down a bit!
  14. Small breaks in HT wires don't tend to stop a spark as the HT on most saws will jump 5-10mm but it will stop the spark if it is jumping to earth or cause misfires. Worth checking continuity with a multimeter but this isn't looking good so far:thumbdown: I am guessing this isn't a contact breaker machine?
  15. Thanks guys, much appreciated and Will - yes for Jan on the Jonsered but will probably regret it from its past history:blushing:
  16. Thanks Jon, yup, the dodgy meets are over, think carrying a chainsaw when suited and booted cut a picture:lol:
  17. Thanks Jon, I do know him and have been in touch recently, thanks for the kind sentiment.
  18. Thanks David, your saw has a few faults but have got most of them boxed off. Glad you ran it in as it has a big air leak but have seals on their way and will sort the oil worm drive whilst I am at it:thumbup: The compression is looking pretty damn good now and the new piston has allowed a fair bit of porting to be done:thumbup:
  19. Thanks Andy, looks like I will be busy next year, all looking good so far, business cards and service stickers on order so no stopping me now:thumbup:
  20. And don't I know it. They may end up in the village pond if they are like this one:001_rolleyes:
  21. I know, busy out there, it is Christmas you know:lol: Nice seeing you again:thumbup:
  22. Been working on a 350 Husqvarna, found a massive air leak around the upper crankcase where it joins the plastic bottom casing. A thin smear of liquid gasket still leaked so used a thicker layer and bingo, got a good seal in the end and then......found the impulse connector on the manifold was split:thumbdown: Fitted a good second-hand manifold I had and got it sealed in the end. All back together, ran perfectly and then went to put a bar on it and bingo......the side cover chain brake pivot pin was shagged....I love days like this, hours of work on a limited budget and just when you think it is done......
  23. Got something similar for blasting the crud off chainsaws as it was making everything pretty dirty and now put it in a similar box that contains the crud - works pretty well:thumbup:
  24. Sorry, I meant nothing by it and am just perplexed as to the disparity between the two opinions. No bad intentions intended and you are welcome to air your opinions and agree with most of yours in the past!
  25. Its almost like we are talking about two different companies though I do my comms by mail and personally rate them as probably the best supplier I have with my parts supplier a fraction behind them!
