  1. What's nice about the Makita is that you can speed it right up for fine work. Possibly it produces more torque at slower speeds too for thicker stuff- not sure but the brushless grinder have an extra torque mode when you bog them down enough.
  2. All well think theory, but we can be pretty sure most wouldn’t have saved the tax money. And other prices such as property would be even more sky high.
  3. I've got a better idea. Why don't we appoint an umbrella organization (we could call it 'Government') to collect a bit of money from everyone in the country in the good times so that when stuff like this happens they can pay a percentage (maybe 80%) of the wages to see people through? I know, we cou;d call it 'furlough'!
  4. No offence but you must be joking. There’s this thing called furlough, I presume you’ve heard of it? Use it!
  5. I used to use airstreams but they only last a year. I can get three pairs a year of Oregon Yukon from screwfix for the same money and find them very comfortable. I used them as a general work boot, they might be shit for climbing, I wouldn’t know!
  6. My recommendation is, it’s a workshop- use a generator.
  7. Of course it’s genetic. Wankers don’t breed! But seriously. Have a quick read of the free ebook ‘your brain on porn’. It lays bare the effect modern porn has upon men’s dopamine systems. It’s not healthy.
  8. Linked. So 6HP. Double the CFM of one.
  9. I’ve got two 3hp compressors linked together, it’s ok but I wouldn’t want to do too much.
  10. Any sandblasting is slow without a big old diesel compressor.
  11. Most likely he’s self employed
  12. Timber does indeed loose energy as it decays. What species was it?
  13. Can’t read the brand, what does it say?
  14. So what? We don’t NEED to build if we don’t import people! It’s time we put quality of life for natives first. although too fucking late, the Birmingham type will outbreed us.
  15. I bet GreenMech charge enough for one!!! someone should ring them and get a price ? bunch of cheapskate muppets.
  16. Donaldson are quality. Shaun, what make is the fucked one?
  17. There are many UK farms where the cows are housed year round. It's the most efficient way to keep high yielding stock. I visited a farm in Ireland last year where they had just thirty cows and a robot. Maybe two hours labour a day required. Extremely efficient, and apparantly profitable too even with so few cows. However, grass is the most cost effective food we can grow on these isles and I can't believe there are any UK dairy farms where grass isn't fed, be it mown and brought to the shed (termed zero grazing) or grazed by the cows themselves.
  18. I remember as a lad being the sole local 14 year old working on the polo pitches filling in divots. Back then, EE people were only just starting to come over, and often there would be a minibus full of them and also a minibus from the Pompey job centre. The difference was night and day.
  19. Based upon what I read here and how the dealers approach issues, if greenmech made diggers they’d be last on my shortlist every time.
  20. Will definately give more heat to the room, don't know if building standards apply in your circumstances but I changed my workshop stove in a similar manner and it was an improvement.
  21. You're defensing the indefensible mate. An air filter should't have holes in it, much less be made of such crappy material that the engine draws it in rather than stalls if it can't pull air through for any reason. Not like it was old either, at 100 hours. Is it a GreenMech specific part or OEM from the engine manufacturer? Shaun- I stand corrected. You need to keep running it until all the filter medium has been sucked into the engine and just the wire cage remains. Only then will the filter be properly run in and able to do it's job of protecting the engine. ?
  22. That’s on a par with Cautrac telling me a cartridge oil filter is washable. Unbelievable. Don’t listen to the muppets above shaun. ID the engine and get a decent replacement filter. Then invoice them for it. Also check that there are no restrictions in airflow to the filter box. To suck the medium out of a filter means a shitty filter or the engine struggling to draw enough air.
  23. You can’t get 900mm chisels for them as far as I know. I had to make mine, and it was still rubbish. Air jackhammer knocks the spots off any electric one down a hole.
  24. Buy new and you know that it's not been abused, so you can then rely upon it.
  25. Archer are utter shit. Rotatech are pretty good in my experience- well worth the saving over Stihl.
