With the tree in the second lot of pics would you say it is past its best and needs to come down or leave it and monitor it.

I see the tree has some sort of numbered tag on it does this mean someone is monitoring its health?

I would be very wary of setting any traps of any kind apart from hiding and catching them at it. If they do get hurt on your property you could be the one that ends up in court paying damages. Its the sad way the law works at the moment.

Just find a tree and get up it

Easy to come up with a figure only to find out later that you haven't actually covered your costs. Sit down work out your running costs then add on what you are happy to earn on top.
