1. ... Well my daughter's actually. This is 4th or 5th one she's found in the garden in as many months! I've never even found one...
2. Good idea, a good wife is hard to find but easy to keep! I found that datura growing amongst my catnip, could have made my nervy cat even more so...
3. You'd get through a whole pachyderm heavy duty grinding discs carving that... I'll pack my trunk and leave now...
4. It's datura, makes pretty potent tea too, if you can boil a kettle!
5. Or you could make her a thorny apple pie. Might not be deadly, but could certainly be entertaining!
6. Not good is it. If you felt so inclined you could check the consent conditions. Round my way there is often a condition attached for a five year replacement period if tree planting fails to thrive...
7. Nearly a four year old post! But I still remember where I found, and now I know what it was, ta muchly...
8. Well done mate, I'm all for alternatives to the corruption of 'big pharma'! Fingers and toes crossed for you Stevie...
9. Fat little mullein caterpillar on, of all things, mullein! Oddly last year the mullein was ignored in favour of the buddliah (sp?) a couple of metres away...
10. Ah, could well be cotinus. Cheers...
11. On a yew I'd avoid altogether! Word on the grapevine is that a certain Boddy has discovered the Laetiporus on yew is a different species to sulphureus too...
12. How is Tony anyway? Anyone in touch with him, is he still lording it up in Bulgaria?
13. Me neither, but lovely pieces...
14. I only got bitten once, as a kid, on my arse cheek! Bloody thing turned into an open sore for a week or two...

Most frequent in the south east, I think around Colchester is a national hit spot of sorts. They're certainly getting more scarce, habitat loss I guess, as they live as larvae in rotting stumps and roots for several years before emerging as beetles to mate then die within a few weeks...

Fair enough, hopefully didn't hurt too bad. I had a mate as a kid who broke both arms falling from a tree. He couldn't wipe his own arse for ages!

The first fall? How many have you had!?
20. Sounds OK then. I think I have sorted a mate with a van anyway, so cheers anyway eggs, very kind offer. If I do get stuck I might well be in touch though! Cheers guys
21. Hi all, I need to move a big American style fridge freezer, and will need to lay it on its front or side to transport it a few miles. I've had a quick Google and the general view is leave it upright overnight before turning on to allow oils to resettle in the motor, and pack around the motor to prevent stretching the springs that support the motor. It all seems like old wives tales, so does anyone know the real deal? Should it be ok? Cheers...
22. I have this at the bottom of my garden, and have no idea what it is! It looks familiar, but I can't place it. I've only been in this house a year and a half, but it looked just the same last year too - slightly twisted sick looking leaves, and bud clusters that fail to fully open. I don't know if this is just how it should be, or if it's struggling for some reason. Any ideas?
23. Yes, but don't tell the world on here first!
