    Jokes???

Two Italians get on a bus. They sit down and engage in an animated conversation. The lady sitting behind them ignores them at first, but her attention is galvanized when she hears one of the men say the following: “Emma come first. Den I come. Den two asses come together. I come once-a-more. Two asses, they come together again. I come again and pee twice. Then I come one lasta time.” “You foul-mouthed swine,” retorted the lady indignantly. “In this country we don’t talk about our sex lives in public!” “Hey, coola down lady,” said the man. “Who talkin’ abouta sexa? I’m a justa tellin’ my frienda how to spella ‘Mississippi’.”
  2. She told me not to eat lots of things which I later did
  3. News to me. Well done him...
  4. Crikey if I was in any industry and employing 8 people in my company full time I'd expect at least 35k a year for myself!
  5. I don't think that you can, try the browse or search tabs...
  6. Bean's Trees and Shrubs Fantastic resource now freely available online, a nice Christmas pressie to everyone...

    Bs 3998

Check your local library, can sometimes download a copy through them. Or buy a copy!
  8. I don't see anything on their website. You know something we don't?
  9. Nope never too late, but time and space aren't on my side at the moment!
  10. Lovely wood there mate I really regret selling my lathe 10 years ago! At the time the weekend seemed more important :what:
  11. Nice to have you round again, and nice finds too.
  12. Sorry, should've been more clear - the arc is for a rough approximation of the shade cast. The crown spread is supposed to be fairly accurately represented, so generally a rough circle following the compass points measurements will suffice. The rpa is specific to bs5837, and is based on the stem diameter, although it has some quirks with multi-stemmed trees. Maybe with if you're good with that sort of thing you could set up a map maker thingumajig to do plot them automatically. Being a technodunce I just use Pear Tech's pt mapper! Be interested to see how it goes if you try it...
  13. Tis a lot of money indeed, I'm still saving!
  14. Save Edge are supposed to good, I've always liked Oregon...
  15. Shading is rarely needed in my experience, generally a simple arc depending on height is enough, unless the lpa are being fussy. So yes, an accurately sized stem, crown spread to the four compass points, and an rpa. Also colour coded to represent categories, with tree numbers shown. Very helpful to be able to adjust the rpa away from a simple circle while keeping same area too, in case of underground obstructions etc.
  16. BS 5834-4:2011 Surface boxes, guards and underground chambers for the purposes of utilities. Specification for utility chambers I'm guessing you don't really mean this?! Mapping trees, stems, canopy, root protection area etc against site layout is essential as per the 5837 standard. It can guide the initial design, form a clear representation of tree protection locations, demonstrate to the lpa that the proposals can be carried out without detriment to the remaining trees etc. Is this what you meant, or have I misunderstood your question?
  17. ...details here bowl turning thread - Page 42 - Arbtalk.co.uk | Discussion Forum for Arborists Cheers!
  18. Some luverly bowls here, really nice. If I was looking at £30-50 including postage for a nice bowl/plate/pen pot what could people offer? Preferably an English wood, certainly something grown in this country, and 'faults'/rot pockets/arb waste etc very much desired. It would be great if anyone could post pics and prices here, or email to [email protected] if preferred. (If it matters, I'd quite a receipt for it too) Ps: also a couple of smaller pen pot type things, to sit on a desk, for around the same price for the pair. Looking forward to the pics
  19. I've known climbers here in Essex only charging £100 a day, with own saws etc. Crazy, but about right for a 'good' and useful groundy with saw tickets etc. 52 weeks a year, 5 days a week = 260 days. Take away 21 for holidays and say 10 for bad weather/breakdowns etc = 229 229 days x £100 = £22,900 per year Take away fuel, saw and vehicle maintenance, further tickets and training, tax/no etc, you know what you need to do...
  20. My hp pavillion g6 was cheap, is now 4 or 5 years old and works like it did when new. I think it was about £300, so if it went pop next month it wouldn't owe me anything! Also work wise my main mapping etc software only runs on windows, so I'd need a mac with a windows simulator thingy - so what's the point? I have nothing against macs, but then I've never had an issue making me feel like stopping using windows... Sent from my GT-I9100 using Arbtalk mobile app
