  3. Its really not that good for bag launching, but it'll shift mice like nothing else! Just dont miss.
  4. Online because there is no local climbing retailer and machinery is very expensive compared to the uk. I have used Gustharts and FR Jones and both are fantastic on price and service. If i lived in the uk I would visit these stores to purchase kit so i could compare and get a feel for the kit, this is the down side to online sales imo.
  5. just the way you roll! my hyper dog is going for the pole treatment, my groundy shot himself in the veg last week when he had the line wrapped around the handle, it swung back conker style at mach 5!
  6. Do you take the slide with you to act as a bi-pod, or is it for fun during tea breaks, I wish i worked with you!
  7. I am surprised that stihl and husky don't take a sterner line with the ebay fakes, I read about the fake 395xps in FJ being chipped up, I would think its in their interest to wipe these frauds out.
  8. Hi Jesse, Being 6 foot and rake thin makes me a fragile lever with a glass back, the shorter guys i have worked with over the years are solid and dont suffer like i do, so in certain cases I would say its to your advantage and a more central center of gravity for balance! dont let anyone make you feel bad, pee on them from the tree tops!
  9. Hi Jack, Welcome to the forum, and the path you are about to take. There is nothing like this area of work, and the subject has so many aspects that you will never stop learning it. I didn't attend this college, but I can offer some advice; Do your assignments as soon as you get them, ask if you dont understand something, make the most of your education while it is free. Oh, and use Arbtalk, its the best reference guide you will ever find!
  10. Agree with "the fox" great review and very objective. I really want this saw to be a success story. Look forward to reading about how it fairs in Beech!
  11. Amazed that the transit got over the ice with no drama!
  12. You've been had mate. Forestry journal did an article on these very saws, Fakes and bad ones at that. Sorry.
  13. I am well impressed with my MS192t, and will probably replace it with the 150t when its passed away. The only problem with it is that people always compare it directly to a MS200t. Different saw for a different use, its like comparing a ms660 against a ms260.
  14. Not all of us, but most ex-pats like to rock the boat, he is arsey in most of his threads, don't let him get you down. Just his way.
  15. How about a stihl ms241? I have heard some good things about these, lighter than a 261, and autotune for ease.
  16. I have just got a pair of distel gecko spurs and to be fair no expert with spurring, but have had a bad day with the gaffs slipping out, and also tearing the bark off the tree. The result was face in tree trunk, and some very bruised ribs. Can anyone advise me, as its really knocked my confidence. The stem was about 15", Ash, lanyard not flip line as i dont have a flip line. Thanks in advance.
  17. Agreed, electric are ok for de-bogging a truck, but for constant use a hydraulic, like Mile marker, are best. Have you considered a portable winch, like a capstan? I think Jonsies were knocking them out. honda engined from memory
  18. We do not negotiate with terroists. I aint got time to bleed. Somewhere, somehow, someone is going to pay! Time to let old painless out of the bag!
