  6. Shame I was away Paul, I would of been very happy to have shown you round 'my patch' Ricmonds' veteran work is carried out by 'The Tree Company' partly to Nevile Fayes' original spec. In dealing with the LTOA (i go to most quartery metings) I haven't found many TO's to be too open to fracturing. In my experience, with regards to the Capital It's mainly ourselves (the City of London) and both the Crown estates and Royal Parks that are progressively and routinely using these types of techniqes. Be very intrested to hear if anyones opinion differs with regards to this in the london area. Regards David
  7. Marcus, how many peolpe are you looking to cater for with regards the discussion meeting ? Although North London, we may be able to offer a venue. Pm me. David
  8. Steve, I currently use a Digital micro probe (which superceded my use of the arborsonic) to provide a visual back up to sounding. I have trialled using Picus. If when budget allows, I will be seeking training and/or bringing in Thermal Imaging. .
  9. I was hoping this was the case, and that we were not having a situation where nice fluffy pictures of photogenic Fb's are being used to determine the extent of an inspectors fungal knowledge Cheers Tim .
  10. Appologies Tim, can you please clarify for me whether or not the Bracket Id you had was either showing pictures of fruit bodes or actual fb's. I may be having a senior moment here Cheers David .
  11. Spotted this bracket whilst out and about yesterday on a neighbouring LA's patch. Thought it worth sharing, as most published shots, show it with the dropletts on the surface. Here hosted on Oak. White rot, potentially making this tree open to wind throw. If it was on my patch, further decay detection would be the order of the day methinks. Pretty high target area. Will give the TO a call. http://www.aie.org.uk/fungi_base/dry..._fungi_p1.html .
  12. Noted this ad, and thought it may be of interest to some. Appologies if it's stepping on the toes of others. 18. Similar to that Dean. Comes and goes every 2-3 months, lasts for about a week. Can't believe I was lucky enough to get a weeks skiing in over xmas. Could live with it, but I really need to up my fitness this year, and feel this will keep getting in the way. Can lock up completely and makes me limp like quasimodo. Climbing and clocking up survey miles are out when it's playing up. .

  22. Having soldiered on with a nagging knee injury for a couple of years, I've bitten the bullet and after an MRI scan showed up a cyst and tear of the posterior horn of the medial miniscus (boy, thats a mouthful) I've decided that this old monkey needs it getting sorted. Going in next week for the Arhroscopy, no big shakes, but was told today that recovery time could be anything between 2-6 weeks Has anyone else had this done? I know recovery time is wholey dependant on how much jiggling about the surgeon does, plus how patient a patient I'm willing to be post op. What 'd like to know is.............is the projected time span realistic, or are the hospital just stating worst case senario? The prospect of being virtualy housebound for that long is not something I'm particularly relishing. Also, any ideas as to the best form of physical reabilitation for the knee. The muscles on me left knee are already a tad atrophied due to the other one having had to double up, taking the strain of an everso slowy expanding waisteline Well I am nearly 40 At least the SWL on Nelly is 150 kg Guess they should probably just take me round the back and shoot me really, save the NHS a load of cash and save you poor souls from having to listen to me whinging on about it Cheers Woe is Monkeyd .
