  1. Surely with nothing to post about, the thread will just flit away............. .
  2. Saw that and spat me tea all over the gaff this mornin' Surely though, you can't get pictures of the wee people in th' daylight. So that must be the biggest mother Winch in the whole bloomin' world. Muscaria on Plane.............tut tut, Johnny .
  3. Nice shot J. Like the way the Oaks on centre right are cowered over. Makes it look like the Tree Ents weary march back from Isengard. .
  4. Welcome to the site Gerry, glad you jumped on board after our little chat this morning. Like I said earlier, you'll find loads of great advise here. Look forward to meeting you next week, hope we don't manage to scare you off from the industry. David .
  5. Thought I'd share this little gem with ya. Spotted today along the A41 in London But before any of you get ideas of slandering my good reputation, just because there appears to be evidence of cambial and sap wood fracturing, this isn't actualy Monkeyd pushing the boundaries of Mordern Arb practices yet again. .
  6. If that's his forearm sprouting from them there nether regions, eh bye gum, then where's tha left hand man :scared1: .
  7. Youz guys, you just kill me !!!!!!!!!!!! Mr Hancock, I wouldn't bother with the PI if I were you, especially as you appear to be having difficulty matching your fruiting bodies to host trees And as for you Mr Lofthouse, the less said about little men lurking at the base of trees the better. Incidentely, what exactly was the interaction going on, with your hand and the unfortunate arboreal victims private parts ? .
  8. It was mentioned at a Capital Woodlands Conference on Monday. Nobodies owning up just yet .
  9. I'd better call in the myco s'perts, that's gotta be the first time anybodies ever recorded dryadeus on Plane .
  10. He He he he he better go back the morrow and check the back plate. Just knew I missed sommit off the R/A .
  11. No room for the Valtra & 9t Igland. Dont you just love a good bit of over kill So, next best thing. You would'nt believe the root ball on this little sucker (Magnolia) .
  12. True natives (all 33 or so) are deemed to be, if they were here by natural propagation, after the last Ice age. No one really knows how climate change will affect survival strategies of "native" trees. Imo, the best thing to do will be to hedge your bets and plant a mix of natives and mediteranian. One of the London Boroughs is planting Olives as a street trees. .
  13. Yeah, we still do that with the other two trees, but the socket is easy and works really well. Will try and replace the others for next year. Had this socket for a couple of years now. .
  14. Turns out I've lent it to a colleague, I have asked him to return it, but don't hold your breath. .
  15. Our three came in on Tuesday. 1x 39' 1x 35' 1x 33' Due in at 08.00 am, eventually turned up at 12. That left us getting this beast through London to three different sites and putting them up in three hours. And then it pissed down Christmas spirit deserted us this miserable day. Bah Humbug .
  16. Spoke with Iveco done in London last year and I'm sure they said something more in the region of the mid forties .
  17. Perhaps yes Windblown tree on road = road closed Set up on pavement to allow grab access to said fallen tree. Pictures do not always tell a thousand stories. .
  18. Shhhhh.......I'm North Londons Mr Big, when it comes to the CMP. Keep telling the wife that it's 20 kees of flour in the kitchen. Not really
  19. Got our 35C11D on a 51 plate, been ok for us, but it's not run like a commercial van, tbh. I've heard very good reports of the new generation, and will be spec'ing to replace ours with a new Iveco, in '09 .
  20. I've heard tell a'fore of this urban myth, that speaks of this cold white phenomenon from t'up north. They call it Sno, or Snah or some such devilment. Is the rumour true lads, that a couple of the Northern members have been nicked for impersonating professional Arborists ? .
  21. What's all that white stuff Bob ? .
  22. Nice one Chris, do you know what species root plate it came from ? .
  23. I wish, covenant on starting up with me lotty pardner was green, green, green Keeping the alien hoardes at bay is a full time battle. .
