Could you show laterals where they spread at the end of the branch and what you would chose to remove .What i like about this thread is you are looking at every tree in its own merit not by what a book says . I pruned a medium sized beech the other day the customer wanted to remove a huge limb and i refused to do it in the end he went for a reduction lesser evil reductions have there place and kept this tree standing:thumbup1:

    Cheers for messages some very good advice feel much better now dark couple of days nearly passed out at the yard on friday got my self really stressed and after reading the post on here thought to my self i should think about it after christmas as my family come first .
  12. Have you got any close ups of the cuts you make. I where possible try to prune to weeping branches for a natural effect I know you cant do this with every type of tree i like the way you change your method for each tree.On the eucalyptus the collar swells a lot and i normally prune in front of this copying shaded out branches bellow do you follow this method where it occurs. Ps big fan of your work tony:thumbup1:

    I can get work elsewhere that is not so much the problem and more money to but i feel like this company has helped me and i want to stay loyal i do every tree job like it is my own company just dont know if landscaping is always going to come first cheers for your replies

    Im lost

    I used to be sure about what i want to do with my life.It has always been about trees thats one thing that is sure but after owning my own tree services working on the books and subcontracting. I have started with a new company who do landscaping. As there tree surgeon i have to do landscaping when there is no tree work to be done the problem is after more than a year there is not much tree work coming in and as im so into trees i find this hell they have been good to me but i dont now how long i can do something that i hate on the hope it could pick up . Any advice would be great.

  18. Priced a job to remove a dead larix decidua the tree was full of small holes the lady said it was from a woodpecker it looked like it had been used for firing practice. would this be the woodpecker looking for grubs of a beetle ?.Will add pic later
  19. Yes that would be much cheaper i did use to use one on mine when i had it much nicer to use as well.

Cheers for your reply the aerial rescue course i went on did not teach the pole rescue so your ideas on equipment sound great i will have a look in to that also my groundie is doing his ticket soon so i can learn of him the ins and outs .I havent used the wire core flip line for a long time but if i get one i will buy the cut off cord that conects to the harness.Dont know how to do links but it would be on fletcher steuwart web site:blushing:cheers again:thumbup:
  21. My boss is just about to invest in a aerial rescue kit just wondered what makes a complete kit i have seen a kit from stein which looks great but it looks like you would need to add to this any ideas pictures videos links would be great cheers.
  22. The book you talked about in your post by bob watson is a great book recomended for the rfs level 2 buy it i have had mine 2 years now and still refer to it i brought it from amazon:thumbup:

Keep on going back to pentax kr because the guy who does the camera couse i am going on uses the next one up from the kr range and he does mainly nature photography before i would have not really noticed them with all the nikon and canon cameras around would love to now if any one has a pentax kr:001_smile:
