4. My attachment point came loose and was rendered unusable after as it bent the metal loop I had spud make me a new and improved attachment . Apart from this issue I love this saw I use it for dismantles and pruning some would say not to use it for dismantling but if your useing it on sensible bits then I can't see a problem it will stress the engine more than what it should but the time it cuts down on the job and the accuracy of the cuts make this the best for getting the long twiggy laterals of the tree obviously swapping to the 201 or husky when you need the extra power and bar length .
5. What's not to like very nice reduction indeed
6. The piece of plastic were the spring is at the rear of the saw fractured and as I said the saw fell apart causing even further damage to the saw . I loved the saw until this happened but how can you use a saw that is for what we do every day and that happens after a couple of weeks and then they don't want to do it under warranty .
7. My one fell apart after a couple of weeks and have been waiting on warranty . I got a 201t and think it's a stronger build the whole power thing is over blown IMO and 201 has more than enough power . I was really enjoying useing the husky until it died we also have had a few problems with our husky ground saws I don't think you can beat sthil for build quality and this is coming from a husky fan.
8. I went on a road trip to The house of spud today and just wanted to say what a nice guy he has taken some saws in for general repair and I have already had a text saying one is nearly done so really good news .
9. Have you looked at Reg Coates latest video I tried his method on a job we did and I thought it worked a treat
10.
Hi mate I have a few saws that need attention could you send me your number by PM and I will call you tomorrow with more details <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

11. Never thought of that cheers mate I will give him a shout and start posting cheers again
12. Hi mate we use Stanton and have saws in there now but they are really busy so we are looking for An essex spud u like .
13. Is there anyone near chelmsford who does chainsaw repair as the local shop we use is really busy and could do with Some help with some saws .
14. We don't have ladders so throw line is essential . I was using marlow but that is my rough line as it has many knots I just brought the stein kit and am really pleased it's nice and neat and tidy now . I through both single and double and after a lot of practice I'm fairly good at it . Still not comfortable with the term double bagging though lol;) .
15. This is a possibility on some but on others I think with what I have learnt from body language of trees and various fungi books I will have to take action I'm defiantly on the side of doing only what is needed
16. Cheers David I will ask my boss to get me that book . I'm keen as always to do only what's needed on the trees I work on there is a cedar on the estate that is near the house it's absolutely stunning if we get the job I will add pics and continue with this thread and what I have learnt . Cheers again
17. Hi David most of the oaks are next to the main track of the estate one has lost a large limb already there is also a lot of stag horn on one tree with the only strong lateral going over towards the rd and another tree has many brackets of ganoderma at base and is leaning toward the track .
18. I am just waiting to hear back from a job I priced there are lots of general pruning tasks hedge trimming felling general reductions . I can do most tree surgery related tasks but I am a little concerned with what is involved with the veteran trees on site so any help would be massively apreciated . The veteran trees are mainly Quercus robar .
19. I just got a throw bag kit from fr jones today and although I can use a throw bag I was wondering what you do with the throw line when placing it in the cube . Do you just lay it in or do you need to stretch the line out . I just won't to know how to keep it as knot free as possible and in good condition . Cheers
20. Ok no worries I will get the groundies to sort something out as it's there bit of kit I have not had a go yet as I'm the only climber on our firm . I have seen it in operation from the top of the tree looking down and both winch and bollard look really smooth .
21. We got are smart winch today I'm not going to go into comparison over other devices . We got a days training with the winch and really enjoyed the whole day the rigging operation was made really easy and safe and I would defiantly say it's worth having a go on one . I will keep you updated with pictures etc
22. If you get the visor remember to fasten the plastic wheel were you attach the visor or it falls off and it fractures real easy from this point that's why we keep all our hats in the cab of the truck apart from that it works well apart from being a little out of line and rubs on your nose on one side .
