  1. If anyone is interested we are meeting at belfairs wood on Monday the 31 December at 9.30 . I'm taking a guy from work and 2 of my boys are going .

I already have the large isc yellow pulley but am looking for a small pulley my thoughts would be the small red isc or the small dmm but have also come across the isc flame I have seen a few guys pics on here with them . I was considering using some of that marlow silver coloured stuff to attach it to the tree as they have some at fr jones

  5. I know what your saying it had to be done if it dies then it dies it was about to split out if it was a healthy tree I wouldn't have pruned it their was outher trees near this one that were healthy and no work required .
  6. Yeah all prunus I don't know why I called it a malus it had natural failures on it so I just done the same on the other branches to match in very weak tree would have failed on its own .
  7. It was a prunus sorry guys having a dumb day and yes that is phellinus or however you spell it .
  8. Yeah that was me but now doing trees full time and loving it . It's good to have a moan some times gets it all out there done me the world of good and I am looking on the bright side of life. I respect what your saying I'm very lucky to be in the position I am in and will have to learn along the way with guys like you and others on here . Ps be nice to catch up if your going fungi hunting I'm in.
  9. Cheers Ian that was very interesting as I have 3 boys I wouldn't want them to do any job they did not love as I have found my dream job in arb . I let my boys have their own ideas and support them with what they want to do they do share interests but only because they are into them . Oakley my oldest wants to be a zoo keeper Harley the second oldest loves wing chun and ollie loves tree surgery I come home most days and he has made something new into a harness he robs old hard hats and gloves and has loads of arbtruks lol
  10. I have heard that the lock jack is better than sj for rw I am interested in the zig zag also but will try before I buy at a rec climb .
  11. I put my ropes in a pillow cover also and nikwax washing ball thingy to hold the nikwax .you can buy from any camping shop .
  12. Washed my rope in nikwax worked a treat .ps cheers you have reminded me I need to wash them again .
  13. Zerrmatts are amazing I just got my pair from jonsie they feel weird at first but after they break in they become like a pair of slippers they are great for every aspect of arboriculture IMO .
  14. No it's not acceptable not only for the fact it affects warter and soil but also because of something closer to home very upsetting .
  15. I know there is risks with poisons and you need to take precautions but I have been thinking of going more Eco with it for a long time .
  16. Lol sorry mate wasn't sure myself is it Eco because it doesn't use loads of it and keeps it contained in the stump.
  17. Does anyone know any Eco ways of poisoning stumps as we use roundup at the moment and as tony has brought this to light I will not be using again . Cheers for the info tony.

  19. Hard reduction on a horse chestnut had a few problems so had to take weight off the main laterals .
