Here are the pictures. Not as bad as originally described and i can see how when the rabbits have chewed the bark they have left the cambium layer. I think they are to thin to bridge graft. Out of the three pictures one looks like it needs something done. I just need to decide what type of graft to do. It will be a bit of a experiment as i haven't done any grafting for about 15yrs. Having trouble getting the pics on but will size and het them up. Thanks for the replies.

I have never done a bridge graft but will look into it. I have not seen the damage but will have a look tomorrow and will take some pictures. A guy a Dobbies said they will bi fine and put a sleeve around!

Hi, I'm after a bit of advice on some apple trees ring barked by rabbits. These are small trees about 25mm in diameter and there are about 4 or 5 of them. I planted planted these for a friend in late summer who got them in large pots from his mother who passed and they weren't in great health. My plan is to cut the damaged section out and graft the section back on, pruned and with rabbit protection. My main question is would it be better to use new healthy scion wood? Also will having twin grafts cause problems? These trees are more for centimental value. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks Charlie

I have the drift hd and can't complain. It was quite a bit cheaper than the gopro equivalent and same quality with more extras. I like the streamlined shape and no need for case it doesn't stick out nearly as much as the gopro. Only thing I would say is make sure u have a computer with a decent amount of ram to speed up editing especially if you record on high quality.

Starting a stihl saw by pushing it along the ground is one of the best. No mess but just as funny to watch.

They are great but also great at going through gas mains as we found out last week. Straight through warning tape and into medium pressure gas line. A quick thing to remember if you do go into a gas pipe leave the auger in as it helps plug it.

The brackets are on a different side but there is a bracket at another location. The failed stem is almost central on the pollard. The black mark on the side of the trunk is from the failed limb. There is also fungus in the left on the first pic that looks like a shadow.

No sign of poor growth in crown. Looks to be a very old pollard with one stem broken off. Sorry not the best pics.

Hi all, I'm after a bit of advice on fungi that is on a beech. It's about 1.5m in diameter with a large canopy. The potential customer wants a crown thin or is it best to remove?

Just seen very similar thing on a birch in a primary school and would assume its from bark being peeled off.

I use the large stihl 4mix and Husqvarna 570BTS. Both machines new replacements after having loads of problems with the older 4mix stihls. The husqs are more powerful and better to use however machines not old enough to test reliability.

Makita 18v li stuff is great. The 22 min charge cuts down number of batteries needed however never let them go completely dead. I've been told Milwaukee red lithium ion bats are the next level.

Set a list of tasks. One of them busking in busy centre and have to make a set amount of money before moving onto next task. Wrap the stag in cling film. Or there's always pub golf.

Drift HD has worked well for me. I think you can get them for about £120 now and they come with a wrist remote. The Drift Ghost looks good as well but costs a fair bit more.

Similar thing happened to a friends parents a couple of weeks ago. A poplar about 600 in diameter and about 15m high fell from neighbouring property and smashed through a fence and on another tree. Only the root ball was left on owners property. My friends parents ended having to go through their insurance after advise from a solicitor. It didn't seem right to me but they assured me that they had no other choice.
