  1. I think someone at Redwood must have read this thread. I received a phone call from Vince this morning saying they'd ordered a batch in and could send one out today. £25 and he didn't charge me the carriage
  2. I would rather live with them than you. Get back under your bridge. I also would not want to be of an ethnic minority in France right now with the rise of front national
  3. Really? I was there in October. It's desperate.
  4. This is a thread asking for wood donations to calais. People are in a desperate situation, men women and children, many with links to the uk. Please don't turn this into another rabid anti foreigner rant. If you're not offering anything helpful go start another thread if you like. The OP was asking for donations of wood, not your opinion on the refugee crisis
  5. Yeah they were always really helpful and knew their stuff in the workshop. I'll give arborcut a try
  6. Yeah talked to Vince he said they don't supply Jensen parts. I find the cable goes about once a year even if you regularly grease the runners
  7. Be interested to hear about your experiences with the slabber. I got one with my 2nd hand Lucas but not used it yet. Even setting the bar up with the chain on is quite challenging. Saw some oak milled at the weekend, all the sapwood long gone, lovely brown sound timber inside.
  8. Who are the best now for Jensen parts? Phoned Redwood up for a new feed roller tensioner cable for a 2005 A530 only to be told they no longer supply Jensen bits. Arbrep cane up on Google as jensen dealers, but they had never heard of this cable, and when they managed to source one they want nearly £100!!! I'll get a cable made up but who else supply Jensen parts? *edit: Arbrep and Redwood have both since gone out of their way to help. Arbrep now stock the cable at a reasonable price*
  9. Keep an eye on carpenters fellowship website. I picked up a makita mortiser from there earlier this year
  10. My sister lives in cubbington. I tried to look for the pear a few years ago but couldn't find it! Better try again before it's too late. Maybe get some cuttings
  11. Revs picked up on my top handled echo like it was running out of fuel. Fueled it up but couldn't start it afterwards. Primer bubble fills with fuel but then stays depressed for ages like its struggling to pull through fuel. Will start with fuel tipped directly in carb but won't stay running. Haven't investigated much further its the only echo I've had, not very familiar with them. Fuel filter in tank looks clean.
  12. Nice video looked like an efficient operation! I always thought you needed an auxiliary oiler with a long bar like that? How much volume were you getting through in a day?
  13. Try Markie G he's that way
  14. Was that a Wellingtonia or coast redwood? We took a coast redwood down the other week. Not as big as that one, we reckoned only about 70 years but still a fair size. Is the trunk getting milled? Its great timber.
  15. Have you tried kings scrapyard? They've normally got a selection in. Not sure what there prices like
  16. Here's one of mine. WRC with oak legs.
  17. Can't start my Stihl Kombi engine. I think there's a problem with the switch. Can't find an exploded diagram online think there might be a bit missing. Hopefully the picture will show. Has a bit come off on the right hand side?
  18. Yep they're gonna take it, thanks Sean
  19. Anyone know where I can get rid of a few loads of clean wood chip in North Bristol next week? Mostly eucalyptus with a bit of beech
  20. Yes but not sure which day yet. I'll be at the bath and west tomorrow and Thursday in the woodland crafts bit
  21. Been down there setting up a timber frame in the woodland area. Maybe see you there!
  22. Where are you based? Maybe you can find some people locally with different setups and offer to give them a hand in order to get some experience of different mills
