  2. yes,called out to evercreech today,report of tree down,got there it was a Laurel branch about as thick as my wrist! 4hrs in total,2 mins work!

  4. yes mate,they are bottom of butresses,not sure about colouring of fungus,was aright old mess,but butresses had turned to grey slime,which was nice
  5. IMO if your a subby/freelance you ve gotta be nuts not to have personal insurance,mine costs about £20 a month, but peace of mind is priceless

  7. Thats fair enough, but if some one dropped a tree on you on their job and did some serious damage surley its not unreasonable to claim on their EL?
  8. Rupe will sort this one out,but if you come on for someone as a freelancer working under their direction then you are classed as an employee for insurance purposes.I think!

  10. yep,took it down with telehandler with man cage,could grab top of limbs and waggle whole tree in the ground,which was disconcerting! did back cut and pushed with machine and it just tore out of the ground,roots had turned to gloop!

  20. Skyhucks point about not being paid before they get paid is a pet hate of mine, im a freelancer/subcontractor, not a financial underwriter!!

  23. are you smashing em about to get rid of soil?what sort of soil they in?
  24. swapped over today,soulda tried it years back,weird how something so simple can stare you in the face for so long!!
