  1. Three to four days/nights does me, that said, I’ve chosen not to buy a house, why would I commit to another 18 years of 5/6 days a week to pay a mortgage, I’d be more surprised than most if I last that long!
  2. That seems to be the size of it, some think Starmer will set the new pace, most just seem to believe they have been betrayed. Politics here is a mile away from East Anglia. Intriguing to watch after being away for so long.
  3. I’m taking that with a barrow full of salt, the Labour supporters I speak to, many of who lent their vote to Boris say they will be moving back over, not because they think Labour will do any better, but they believe it’s time for change.
  4. I collected a 5’ tree for a mate yesterday, £50.
  5. Let’s hope it doesn’t end up like this.

    It’s 42.
  7. It’s £585 all in, if it’s right it will be blacked at the same time. I’d have to do the blacking, or pay to get it done.
  8. I’ve been to have a look, it’s been refitted recently inside, but it needs painting, not a cheap job. I’ve sent pictures to a surveyor who will come and get it out of the water, he seems a straight enough bloke, without seeing it, he says it looks like strong money, but made by a good boatbuilder, it will go into dry dock in two weeks time. We’ll see. Oh, that’s £585 to have it looked at, the seller says there is room for negotiation.
  9. If you want to moor in a marina it isn’t a cheap way of living, I’d look for an online mooring on the offside. They are about just difficult to find. It’s a case of asking if there is any availability as you pass.
  10. I’ll cruise initially until I can find a suitable mooring. I’ll do casual work for agencies along the way.
  11. Red is fine, there is a split between propulsion and domestic though.
  12. Yes I’ve lived on the inland waterways in the past, and thank ya.
  13. I can’t afford a house,,well I could but it would mean a lot of work, so after taking a blow to the head today I’m going to look at this tomorrow, if it looks alright and the out of water survey comes back ok I’ll be moving, slowly.
  14. Are these the idle you speak of or not? There will always be tossers, but, genuinely, how often do you meet them.
  15. You keep going on about outrage of the idle, yet your mate claims to only work 100 days a year, and have a sideline. Most folk work 232 days a year, are these the idle you speak of? Or does it make a difference if you are an high end earner?
  16. Try to avoid the ‘system’, but it isn’t easy. I really can’t decide for you, I live a different live style than you.
  17. I think it was Benjamin Franklin, death and taxes are the only certainty in this world.
  18. It is cast, and it didn’t half hurt, do you know that sickly feeling?
  19. This morning I was footing a ladder for a mate who was replacing a down pipe, the tw@t yanked at the main pipe and the ‘swan neck’ bit pictured came down at what seemed like breakneck speed, towards my head, I’ve had better starts to a day.
  20. Yet you have called me out by saying you don’t believe me, scroll back, it’s all there for people to see. I’ll await your return and what you pay in UK tax.
  21. Show us yours from 31/10/2022, let’s get an idea where you pay your tax that you keep on moaning about. You could always post up last years if that’s easier.
  22. Post up this years tax return, and I’ll match you. Not interested in what you earned, let’s see what you paid to the UK Government.
  23. Fair play, I was talking about higher earners who pay the majority of their tax in the UK, not scrubbers that moan and complain about the place when they pay none, or little tax here.
  24. Ok, but your tax affairs aren’t in the Uk, those who do earn your sort of money here will be paying more.
  25. You say, good grief, I say you’ll pay for it. I won’t, but you’ll pay for it if you like it or not. We can’t afford to tax everyone the same amount, if you are a high end earner you are going to have to pay more, even conservatives have seen this.
