  1. Evening all, Just thought id ask the question as im putting a couple of quotes together tonight. You doing the same? if so got any pics and whats the customers request for the job?
  2. Afternoon all... Speaking to a fellow climber today who was employed, took the jump and is successfull being self employed and loving it. Good for him! We were saying it didnt seem like 5 min ago he was employed but he said he dont look back now. I asked him what did he do on his very FIRST day as self employed and he said lots of leaflet drops and advertising to what he could afford... He said he wrote letters to estates and hotels etc, anybody else done that? any result? seems to off worked... so thought id ask the question to you all... What did you do on your 1st day out there on your own?

  4. Hi all.. Interested to know how we started off and what with... Basically ive got a ford escort van, which most of the time gets me through most jobs, other times i can borrow a nissan cabstar for the bigger jobs. The plan is to save and get my own truck and one day chipper... got some saws and trimmers etc.. one day save and get newer ones but when you started in the industry what vehicle and equipment did you have to start off with and what have you progressed to? pictures would be good!

  6. Evening all My father in law is after to buy/hire some block aid concrete blocks to keep out our traveller friends keep out of his wood!!! I am not sure how many he needs etc but basically the heavier the better!! and just seeing if there is anyone local befor he goes further a field.. There is a company in london but im just seeing if anybody can help this part of the world first. The wood where they are needed is in Norfolk/Suffolk border near Beccles. If anyone can help please pm me with phone number and as much info and i will pass it on. The kinda block aids he would like are the same as what is in the picture to give an idea. Many thanks.

  18. Just been watching the budget and interested to see what the arb talk community think?? glad i dont smoke 37p per packet as of midnight! Alcohol to remain the same price... richer get taxed more... etc etc... no doubt the fuel will be the main talking point here?
