  1. I have no idea what you are trying to suggest by banging your head against a wall. However, I do now wonder what are the manners and decency of marrying a 19 year old virgin whilst still banging your married catholic mistress? Do not worry if you can not answers the question either can the Princess of Wales:001_tt2:
  2. A persons political/religious beliefs or views will determine if they consider a Royal wedding as a national or private day of celebration. This will also determine what different people consider as manners and decency given these are not universal values that people are born with but are determine by many different social factors. I would not worry, I am sure that no one from Arbtalk could upset the big day unless someone from BP's gardening team is lurking and gets caught with a footman in the bushes near the national mulberry collection:confused1:
  3. Thank you for expressing what, I feel:thumbup: The Royal family, landowners and farmers are biggest benefit scroungers in the UK! Whats all this if you can not say something nice do not say anything at all, does this list include Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot, Wayne Rooney etc.? You might want to look up the Riot Act (1714) learn about all those glorious occasions when hussars and lancers run a blade through innocent men, women and children in the name of a German King or Queen. I do not need a Royal wedding or is it a private wedding to make me fell proud to be English it is remembering the Putney debates, the levellers, tolpuddle martyrs and those match girls!
  4. The head of of Arb at Kew is Tony Kirkham, I have meet once or twice at Arb events but do not know him personally. I have been on the 11:00 tree walk, I think it would be very interesting to witness the walk in the mass company of the Arbtalker's. Here is Tony's Kew web page; Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew: History and Heritage: People: Landscapers, Architects & Gardeners: Tony Kirkham
  5. There are no local campsite with good tube links to Kew gardens, given that Kew is at the end of the district line near Richmond. If you are determined to camp try sites in and around Windsor on the M4 and the National train network. There are loads of cheap hotels and B & B locally at Richmond, Twickenham and Heathrow on laterooms or agoda.
  6. I have found the following websites helpful in the past; Dyslexia - NHS Choices JISC RSC Scotland N&E: Home Page - Supporting education providers in Scotland Home Page - The British Dyslexia Association Dyslexia Information | Find out about Dyslexia | Being Dyslexic My son has Auditory Processing Disorder - APD - Times Online
  7. I have done a few high hedge in investigation for Local Councils, the problem they have found with the legislation is yes you can charge a fee for the initial investigation but it does not allow for subsequent fees to be charged for investigations. Therefore the Local Councils are having to go back to the same sites every year to measure the height of these hedges at a cost to the Local Council. I would consider it a good idea consider the history of the tree, ask why do people plant Leylandii, pest and diseases. I have often been asked in regards to hedges and trees , I want to plant something fast growing, cheap and will stop at 6 foot tall. I do not know any plant that conforms to these three requirements, however Leylandii is cheap and fast growing but NEEDs managing 2/3 times a year given it can grow up to one meter a year. I have listed a few websites for your information. Regulatory Impact Assessment: High Hedges - Implementing Part 8 of the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003 - Planning, building and the environment - Department for Communities and Local Government Hedgeline: Campaign against nuisance high hedges

    NHS Pah!

Funny you should post this today, I have received my health insurance renewal today. The NHS are brilliant for acute care for all other conditions you are at the mercy of your GP and the local NHS Trust. The best thing with private medical insurance is that it gains you access to the diagnostic tests in much quicker time frame than it is possible with most parts of the country within the NHS. Once you have the diagnosis you might found that your treatment will take place within the NHS. I very good rugby playing friend who is under 30 had a shoulder operation via medical insurance that simple would not happen with the NHS because it was sport induce and he was to young. He would of had to go through years of pain and discomfort before the NHS would sent him for the scan ever mind the operation. When, I had an accident a couple years ago, I had to wait 13 weeks for physiotherapy, I could not wait that long because I had to get back to work so, I went private. I did not have medical insurance at the time of the accident but, I do now!
  9. It might of helped if you posted the price of the course? These are as follows; PRICE NET VAT GROSS Non-member £540.00 £94.50 £634.50 Member £490.00 £85.75 £575.75
  10. I saw this method being used on a local news report a year or two ago somewhere in East Sussex. It is not new a method, I was told that open top buses were used in around Brighton before Dutch Elm disease.
  11. I finally did the QTRA training this year, I have wanted to do this training since, I attended the ISA UKI Risk Seminar (in 2004 or 2005?) where both JFL, Mike and Dave did talks on Tree Risk Assessment. I have a lot of respect for QTRA one of the reasons for this is because the people I, respect in the industry respect the system and have done the training. However there are weakness in any system and the weakness in this system is the same weakness in ALL the Tree Risk Evaluation methods YOU and ME. It is our skills, knowledge and experience or lack of them that will determine the strength and weakness of any of the Tree Risk Evaluation methods. Therefore, in order for me to improve these, I decided to spend my money on QTRA and VTA with Mike and it was worth every penny. I doubt that, I will do many if any QTRA surveys because BS5837 is keeping me busy at the moment but, I am very glad that I did the training and in my opinion it was worth every penny. I would suggest to anyone to go on the system you might not fully support it but you will learn something new about trees. As we all do when we attended this events it is the coming together of all the delegates tree experience that is just as valuable if not more so than the knowledge of tutor, talker etc. IMHO, to dismiss QTRA training on a Chinese whisper is very short sighted. This system is being used by many a Highway Authority and is often specified in tender documents for Highway Tree Risk Audits.
  12. It is a very small industry that we work in by allowing people to post using a nom de plum (that is a deliberate spelling mistake) it allows people to post questions that they would not have the courage to do so for fear of looking stupid. I, consider that given the diversity of experience of posters on this forum and the majority of the time the friendly manner of the questions and answers removing are plums would not be for the benefit for everyone in the Arbtalk community. I might consider changing my plum to my real name if, I could figure out how do it:confused1: But please remember plum's this is a very small community so think twice before hitting that 'Submit reply' because you never know who is lurking:001_huh:
  13. Thank you Yvonne for generosity:thumbup:
  14. This not a school sports day were we are all winners:sneaky2: Well done to the winner:thumbup1:
  15. Whats the prize for second?
  16. Please be more specific is that 22:10 GMT:001_tt2:
  17. I have seen the HCC course works for the Cert Arb and it looked okay but not as good as the ISA publications. However, none of the UK publications are structured in the easy to readable way of the ISA which is a shame. I might be able to help you out with some of the course work or loan you some books given, I am not far from Scotty Castle. However, as a payment, I would want that can of Tenttas Extra Large on the drinks trolley in the drawing room:lol:
  18. Wow! I went out BC to visit my two Uncles and their family at the beginning of this year:thumbup1: I wish, I could get a working visa but, I have been told that it is almost impossible:confused1: Saying that my Uncle put me to work on has 1/4 of an acre vegetable patch and scaring black bears on walks in the woods:lol
  19. Dog on the right: Oh thats gooooooooood, I hope that the batteries do not run out! Dog on the left: When is it my turn?
  20. When using your REALLY NAME and a pseudonym you should be very careful what you post on an open internet forum! A very good friend received a written warning for what was post on their facebook page:thumbdown:
  21. I would suggest that you read the following booklet; Acas - Advisory booklet - Redundancy handling In a redundancy process that conforms to employment law you would have been informed that the process was about to begin and they would be consultation with the employees. It is possible that the have have dismissed you from your post. In the redundancy process it is the post/role and not the person that is no longer need by the organisation. I suggest that you do some research this weekend and go to CAB on Monday morning with all your paper work. Good luck
  22. I had a quick look today and the Government are proposing to remove the dying out of the current DDD exemption. Not sure that this is a good idea:confused1:
  23. They have cancelled loads of course, I tried to sign up for a drawing and CAD course but no go:thumbdown: Have you considered HCC College. I have found a drawing course run by Capel at Regent's Park
  24. I got myself a new first aid kit and some blood clotting stuff I also got a MS260, boots, books and some other bits:confused1:
