1. read the schedule, read it again, and then again. Take your time, relax, and don't get flustered if your rope doesn't hit the target straight away when you're accessing the crown.
 2. Hi everyone, Eyeing up a Rope Guide at present, just wondering if anyone feels that there is a noticeable difference between the two pulleys? I'm on a HC at the mo so any difference wouldnt matter too much at present, but I will probably go ZZ when mk2 appears. The standard link-ropeguide is already gunna sting my bank account, let alone the more expensive cocoon one. Would make my own pulley saver with pinto rig, or buy one of Centrals devices, but I might be working for a meticulous company soon so it will need a CE if I get the job. Cheers! Tommy
 3. Bump. As previously said, I'm now going to be available from approx. mid-May onwards. Cheers.

Hi Ian,

I really appreciate the fact that you've been asking around, I'm really grateful. Getting support from people that you've never met in-person really says a lot about the industry we work in. Thanks!

I will be based in Harleston and willing to travel up to an hour away, so I guess that's around 35-40 miles away from Harleston, give-or-take?

If I need to go self employed to get the ball rolling then that's absolutely fine, and if all I can get is ground-work for the time being then that's fine too.

I'd like to reassure you that if you direct me to a fellow contractor they won't be getting a half hearted ‘spare-part’. I love the job and I'm totally committed.

I can also pull strings and move to Harleston as early as the end of May if there is a job to go to. Plus I'm happy to travel to Norfolk to meet prospective employers whenever suits.

Thank you Ian.

Regards,

 5. I'd just like to add that I'm now available from the end of May onwards. Cheers.
 6. Hi there, My friend actually works for them and I'm currently waiting for him to put in a good word for me! Thanks for the tip!

Hi Ian,

I've been pointed in your direction by a fellow arbtalker regarding permanent work in the Norfolk Suffolk area from this summer onwards. If you foresee that you may have work available, or if you know of other contractors that might, then I would be glad to hear from you.

 8. Hi, I will be moving to the Norfolk/Suffolk area for good in June/July and will be looking to secure a full-time job, ideally with climbing responsibilities but I would be happy with ground work (I can subbie if required too). Qualifications FdSc Arboriculture (Myerscough) Royal Horticultural Society Specialist Option Certificate Arboriculture Royal Forestry Society Certificate in Arboriculture Lantra Professional Tree Inspection NPTC’s cs30, cs31, cs32, cs38, cs39, cs41 PA1 PA6aw C&G Tractor w/ Front Loader Lantra MEWP Operator Lantra Stump-grinder Lantra Hedgecutter CSCS card Full clean driving license Experience I’m 28 years old and I have been climbing for 2 years now. For one of these years I was worked as an arborist with the Royal Horticultural Societies Arboriculture Team at Wisley, at the end of my contract they wanted to employ me permanently but I had to return to Myerscough to finish my FdSc (they've since filled that position). Prior to this I worked for a small firm carrying out commercial arb work in the North West. I’m also experienced in tree inspections. I have my own saws PPE and climbing kit. Attributes I’m a competent and confident climber, fit and healthy, reliable, positive attitude, hard-working, polite, professional image, passionate about arboriculture, enthusiastic, committed, punctual, plenty of common sense, lots of initiative, health and safety conscious, always fit in well and I always value advice from others. If you might be interested in taking me on then please get in contact, I can provide my cv if required too. Regards, Tom Mabbutt 07773676465 [email protected]
 9. Thanks guys. I'm trying to think of whatever way I can get 'the edge'. Hopefully it will work!
 10. As above, is this a good idea in an postal cv/application?? Is it a bit self righteous?? Don't want to come across as a 'you-know-what', it's purely to show what I'm capable of. Cheers.
 11. Yeah, its a lovely simple piece of kit, and really useful. Everyone should get one, even if they already have a turtle-burger pulleysaver or a rope guide.
 12. Thought I'd have a go at modding my multisaver into a pulleysaver. There's a spacer in the pinto and the retriever is made from a keyring and some throwline. I'm sure I'm not the first to do this but I'm looking forward to trying it out.
 13. I find them fine personally. Love my airstreams.
 14. When spiking do people think its bad practice to put your flipline on your bridge so you can pass it round the stem and choke it back onto the flipline? Say if you're on a spindly leaner and theres a danger of you pivoting off the stem and hanging on the underside, (so it gives you more security basically). My cs41 assessor showed me that tip, but since then I've heard (from friends that do it [or used to]) that its a no-no, because the carabiner on the flipline would be crossloaded if you slipped of and it took your weight. Obviously youd be backed up with your main line too. I've always found it a massive help to be honest. But I spose that a key danger of doing this is severing your bridge?? (unlikely, but i guess its possible).
 15. Ah, my bad. I must have been comparing it to the 346 on the husky website for some strange reason...god knows why:blushing:, its been a long day. When I see three or more numbers in a row I often get confused (scratches head).
 16. My friend once had the official title of "Sandwich Artist" - a proud addition to anyones CV if you ask me!
 17. You know what they say; the devils in the details!
 18. Just noticed that the chainbrake on the left hand side of the saw is attached into the fan housing on the dodgy one, but on the known 365 its attached to the main saw casing
 19. Just had a look, seems a bit fishy. That packaging box looks well dodge, and the felling-aimer line 'whatdjamecallit' looks like its been coloured in with permanent marker, the safety info stickers look like they've been stuck on by a half-blind sleep-deprived Malaysian factory worker too. 20. Here here. Every twinge I get strikes the fear of God into me. Take it steady out there people, only get one body.
