  9. Apologies everyone. I saw some interesting rotten looking fruiting bodies today on a Beech that I think were meripilus.. I need to get better at this fungi lark.
  10. Fancy combining a tour and a climb sometime Hama? That old pollard looks like it could be good fun to climb...I mean scientifically speaking with regards to an aerial inspection/discussion:sneaky2:
  11. A nice sunny spring weekend would be ideal. If I were coming from my parents house I could come via central.. Check out the meripilus thread. Hama posted some pictures from a very cool location that I would also like to climb/foray/walk round at some point. It is a bit more local to me also..
  12. When, knowing that you shouldn't, you top a tree anyway cos that is what the customer wants. Lol OR, When you have a minimum of cs30,31,38,39.
  13. I guess the date depends on general consensus.. I was thinking when it is a bit warmer and greener. According to Softbankhawks it could be possible to camp over and make a bit of a weekend of it. Would be cool if you could get along Monkey-D. Always interesting to hear your thoughts of fungi, coronets and eco-management etc.
  14. Hi everyone, Who would still be interested if the day was at Softbankhawks' site (near chelmsford, essex)? Is it an ok distance for everyone? Any suggestions for somewhere more central, as there are people interested from all over?
  15. Not as good as a membership to edina digimap
  16. Looks like a mixture of a knut and a distel.
  17. Could well be the case! I've got a hammock that I brought back from Brazil I could use too!
  18. Impressive skills there! I guess you are getting the beer and burgers in then! Haha:thumbup1: Cheers for the info on the site Paul. I take it this is near Maldon?
  19. Sounds good mate! :thumbup:Especially if it is possible to camp over. Make a weekend of it as essex is fair old hack for me for just one day.
  20. Incredible picture! Almost makes my eyes hurt it's so perfect.
  21. Cheers Paul, I did email him.. hopefully he will get back to me soon. Do you know where the venue is so I could have a look on google and an OS map? I'll PM him too. Ben
  22. for anyone interested.. SP996105
  23. Yes it looks like it would be a really good day out. Let me know if you head up there. It's not a million miles away from me. It is also marked as being part of Berkhampstead common too. So I think that means the public are allowed access to any part of the area, as long as it's part of the common.
  24. Just looked on the OS map. There are a number of footpaths and bridleways intersecting the area. It is also marked as National Trust. Most of their woodlands are usually left as open access l think.
  25. I would love to come down for a foray.. I didnt start any foray threads did i?
