  1. I did think that but Im never 100% sure of the difference between applanatum and australe, so I just go with ganoderma spp. lol Need to get better at fungi ID. Thought the twisted Catalpa trunk was interesting though. Especially in such a sheltered place.. Any ideas?
  2. Summer. I think it was the end of August. I may be wrong though about the Gano. Whatever it is, there were about 20 brackets on it all looking the same.
  3. Not sure what happened there.. Hopefully it works this time.
  4. Finally got round to posting these shots from in and around Hortus Bontanicus, Amsterdam. The leaner is in Vondelpark if anyone is off to the Dam and wanted to see it. They just seem to have a a greater focus on preservation of trees over there. Maybe too much so.. I think the Willow at the end has some sort of Ganoderma, but I guess that is for another thread.

    odd

some have lost all leaf and some have not based on my observations in Berks... its not just Q.robur though, I have an old lucombe oak on my uni campus that is doing the same. Interesting stuff
  8. Can the cinch be used safely and effectively on non-dynamic rope?? Would it work as a descender on a 10.5mm static line SRT? Will it work in a RADS system well? Please give me some yes answers because I am dying to buy one of these. Just need to justify to myself that it is useful for multiple tasks. Otherwise I will end up getting a grigri for srt rads and descents and just stick with my short vt lanyard.
  9. Darren have a look at the contour HD before you buy. It looks like another good option. 1080p
  10. I can testify to how good this is! My dad used to have really bad back problems and frozen shoulder. Would be in bed for days unable to move. Two sessions with someone doing Bowen technique after a bad incident with his back and he would be "95% better" and able to go back to work. It works!
