You can pick up the odd entec/timbrtwolf treebusta for 1-2 grand. Mine would handle 3 inch stuff easily. They were really well built and go anywhere. As Ty says the bigger the better but if youre on a tight budget then a treebusta is a good solution. I had one for 3 years and only sold it when I upgraded to a road-tow machine.

On a more serious note you could contact the Crown Estates Commission and see if they could use it in Windsor Great Park. Smiths Lawn with all its horsey stuff etc. Isn't there a polo club along the road from Wentworth to Ascot, or maybe Ascot race course. (I know I'm based in Worthing but I grew up near Wentworth so know the area well)

Marsland have the best reputation. Might be worth asking on one of the landrover fori (forums) they are full of good advice. Not saying the advice on here isn't good but you'll have a larger audience all of whom have some landy knowledge.

I fear this comment may be too late but here we go anyway. Did I read somewhere that the rear engine (I assume crank) oil seal needs replacing. If so yo have to remove the engine or gearbox to replace it. On the disco the bolts on the bellhousing are hard to get at so its considered easier to remove the engine/gearbox in one unit. If the rear oil seal is left it will soak the clutch friction plate and that too will need replacing. I love landies but, based on what youve said here I wouldn't pay more than scrap value for it. Like others have said look on ebay for what they acually sell for.

I came home from work when I heard what was happening. I just wanted to be with my family for 'the END' No amount of provocation warrants what happened that day. The apparent arrogance of George W Bush in snubbing the Kyoto treaty and continuing to allow the US to pollute as it wanted, and invade whichever oil-producing country was under threat was a slap in the face to all caring countries. The perpetrators of 9/11 were NEVER going to be allowed to make any gain from their actions. They don't even need to show the images of the attacks to invoke a feeling of horror and heartfelt symathy for the victims and their families. It is tragic that so many soldiers (and innocent civilians) have died or been mamed since. No doubt others will have different slants on it but maybe some time in all eternity we will all end up with our just deserts.

Some years ago I casually pulled out the pole pruner by the cutting end, stupidly hooked my finger round the anvil hook - youve guessed it, the handle hooked on something and hey presto. For the sake of spending 1/4 second grabbing it properly I bled for 3 hours and now have no feeling in the end of that finger - for what?? Durrr

HAs anyone on here seen concrete bursters in action. It's a kind of expqanding drill which 'bursts' the concrete apart See video below. I womder how it would be on those awkward to access stumps - Drill holes insert burster - crank up genny and away you go?? Maybe one of the 'nutters' on here has even tried it already [ame] [/ame]

You never had one then? I had to replace the bearings twice in mine and was told by TW (a tecchie at head office 'unofficially mate, they need changing every 200 hours') Just look at the size of the two rear bearings - shameful desigm

Those flywheel bearings look a lot better than the older cadbury's ones. If they are fitting those to all new machines I can see their ratings soar.

You could put it on an angle grinder, I suppose and really get stuck in, or mount it on a chainsaw??? Whats the advantage of this klingon frisbee???????

Frighteningly slow! Quicker to cut and lift than use a manual hoist. Also depends on how smooth the surface is to slide the hoist - can't see its worth it.

Just recovering from a shoulder op so I'll have to just play with the scalextric. Waiting to play with the 300tdi (delivered today) and fit it to my 110.

Had a call from a very pleasant lady, agreed time to go round for quote. Got there to be greeted by hatchet-faced misery. She apologised for her state then said 'I thought you were the police, my 16 year old son was murdered last night' I offered to go away and come back whenever it suits her but she insisted that we go through the list of tree tasks. I must admit my mind wasn't on trees. What do you say?

Please treat this comment tongue in cheek - Apart from the maths issue (we all do that from time to time) this idea sounds like a scam! someone delivers a perfect free load for you to 'assess' and maybe develop a business partnership from there - hmmm Just me being old and cynical - good luck

They were compensation rather than physical. If they were pleasant, I'd offer a car-wash. If not - admit nothing, explain the situation, then if they keep on ranting just give em a card, tell em to write to me and I'll pass it on to my solicitor. Never heard any more. They also get very defensive when you take photos and pace out the distance from chipper to beloved BM

Sorry to generalise but all our 3 of ourt dusty car issues have been with BMW drivers. They were all in their 20s and 66.6% of them had tattoos. Richard Craniums the lot of em.

I get my stump grinding barriers for £1.00 - £2.00 Some people call them old wind-breaks for the beach but they work fine. When thry do wear out I just buy another one. Buy about 4-5 a year. rarely been to a sale where there wasn't one (maybe it helps living on the coast). Once saw a bloke selling a brand new hobbs block with all lowering ropes etc for £500. By the time I got back from making a quick call to the police he was being escorted away by the boys in blue. Ironically that was just behind Ford prison!!
