  1. Not many pay sites near either mid Surrey farm the closest I know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I once made the mistake of assuming a snapped out oak limb was stable, it very nearly hit the groundie and is prob the closest I've been to a serious accident in nearly 20yrs of tree work Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Cheers Clive I'll Bring it over when I get my bottom in gear and you can let me know if its worth mucking about with, I didn't want to see it burnt, its not often we take down a bit of ash like that and its got a lovely bit of colour.
  4. Did you find anywhere ? Free sites are few and far between.
  5. Ouch glad you got it sorted safely, may I be as bold to ask when you last had it swept and (not in a cheeky way) how dry are your logs ?
  6. Apologies for the lack of smiley stuff but I hope that most people realised I was jokingly suggesting one of the worst ways of dealing with it.

  10. In answer to your question, no I wouldn't climb it, not worth risking my life anymore than I have too especially for a fence. I may have felt pressured to by previous employers though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah it's very wet, it surprised me how much wetter the heartwood was, to be more specific should I roughly cut it to required dimensions before drying and then finish it ? I know an inch a year is a bit of a rough guide for drying but will I have to do anything extra due to the heat from the stove? Tbh I know very little about doing anything constructive with wood and need a bit of a step by step guide. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I'd get the biggest ladders I could find, put them as high up as possible then cut away with the biggest saw I could find. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. What's the cross for ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  24. Last little bump on this now. It's free Access is good for a lorry apparently I very much doubt wether any clear up would be required. I Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Waiting for the owner to get back to me about access, there is a load of scrub/bramble in the way but that could prob be flattened should find out by tomorrow It's free and i don't think he'd be worried about the clear up. The root plate is up and it's pretty big so that may make it tricky though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
