  1. Yeah the 130/150 look like well sorted machines. How did you get on with the cs100 as your first chipper did it struggle with anything?
  2. Is the third pic the wood in a kiln?
  3. How did you find the cs100? If you had the choice would you have gone straight for the 150 from the start? Can't decide if my business needs the bigger machine atm
  4. Whats the difference in length between the old and new 130? storage is limited for me so could be a factor in buying a new/old machine
  5. What does a ex demo 130 go for? Pm me if you want :-)
  6. Interesting, I didn't realise the greenmech had a bigger infeed tbh. Always thought the timberwolf was the larger machine out of the two
  7. Where abouts did you see the second hand ones?
  8. Interesting, cheers for the info. Did you buy new or 2nd hand out of interest? New I think they are about 8.5k which is almost in the realms of a small roller fed machine I guess
  9. I'm thinking of buying my first chipper pretty soon and these are the two I'm interested in. By the time you get a trailer for the cs100 it is around the same cost as the timberwolf, maybe a bit Cheeper. Has anyone got any experience of these two machines? They both have the same size engines and have a 4" feed size. I just wanted to know peoples opinions on the two, heard a lot about the greenmech but not the timberwolf.
  10. Thought i would post this on the general thread rather than the landscaping one as it might get more views! Does anyone on here do landscaping/groundworks as well as tree work? I might be after a hand on a job i have coming up in the wiltshire area. pm me or get back to me on this thread if you do!
  11. What strimmer and cord are you using looks like some pretty thick stuff your going though!
  12. Fair enough mate have you got the proper trailer as well for it then? I reckon I'll get one of those too
  13. Interesting to hear. Why do you think it's the better machine? I havn't got a local jo beau dealer which is what puts me of getting one tbh
  14. Looks the business mate I've been thinking about getting a cs100 for a while now. What made you go for that over a jo beau out of interest? And di you go for a brand new one or 2nd hand?
  15. Interesting stuff, never used any echo stuff before. May have a look into them
  16. Anyone know of a decent long reach hedge cutter/pole pruner? I've been looking at the HLA85 and wondered if you could change the hedge cutting head to a chainsaw head instead of buying two tools... Its either that or the petrol version the ht103 i think it is? Ideally i just want a decent long reach pole saw that the head can be changed to a hedge cutter for siding up tall hedges.
  17. That looks pretty good to me! It will be in hardwood oak or beech and the lettering will be quite small i guess. Flexcut looks like they do lots of chisels what ones did you use for your sign?
  18. Interesting stuff regarding the milling and carving etc. How did you get into doing that and building up a customer base? Do you have your own mill? I do milling and woodwork as a hobby but if it could make me money as well.....
  19. This is something i do think about a lot. I'm only young but with pension ages creeping up all the time i can't see myself still climbing at 70 (i reckon retirement age would be around that age for me!!) or even doing some of the hedge cutting jobs i currently do. How many of you have your own pension? its something i might think about doing as you can't rely on the state alone tbh. My aim i guess would be to try and be mortgage free by 50 and then start putting money into a pot there on and do less and less climbing. But for someone who wants to be outside an active i can't see many other options than simply just taking it a bit easier... I can't see myself retraining or sitting in an office when i get older its just not in me.
  20. I've got to engrave a couple of chopping boards as a present for someone. I'll probably be looking to do a few more wood working projects soon as well... Whats the best way to go about this? I've been looking at 1/4" routers and dremel engravers and wondered which would be best to use? it will be mostly for lettering not pictures or anything like that, I'm not artistic enough! I'm sure i've seen a few people on here doing engraving? Ian Leach i think...?
  21. Nice job on the Walnut steve, how long did it take you? I've never worked on a walnut before! not many round my way...
  22. I've still been looking around at these. I prefer the look of the Jameson heavy duty double head pruner compared with the bahco one you get with the AUS set, which is swinging it for me at the moment. The only thing i don't get is that the foam filled jameson and hollow ones are both batch tested to 100kv: https://www.spartacogroup.com/product/fg-12f/?_sfm_identification_product_accessory_part_select=Product&_sfm_filter_product_types=118&sf_paged=2 I thought the hollow ones would not be tested therefore what is the difference between the two? Just better rigidity and less condensation build up in the foam filled poles? Would a jameson head fit on AUS poles? might be the best of both worlds... Cheers for the help guys, appreciate all your comments/advice.
  23. Its a toss up between the AUS poles and Jameson ones, is there anywhere you can buy the aus poles individually or do you have to buy a whole kit? Like the one fr Jones sell? Might break the cost up a bit that way...
