    i see you point, but im not suggesting he buys knackered kit, just some reasonably used gear from a trusted source (college lecturer) my second hand kit allowed me to do a few jobs, which made me some money to buy new kit, all im sayin

    its worth speaking to your college tutors re second hand kit. its more than likely that they'll have some spare kit lying about, and im sure they'd be responsible enough not to sell you any dodgy kit. plus you could probably try the stuff out before you buy it, which is always good. i got my basic climbing gear from one of my college lecturers. id stick to basic kit until you've been doing it a while, as all the gadgets and shiny toys can cost a lot of money. if you are going into business with your dad its worth speaking to an organisation like InBiz or Business Link (google them) for some advice re funding and grants. they helped me out and they know their stuff. good luck!

  12. im trying to get my head round the key at the front for idents, the fungi world is definately a complex one! got the little Collins one as well to take out n about the latin names are better to learn cos they are the same the world over

  14. im not sure about being updated, but Perennioporia fraxinea doesn't appear to be in the index, sorry i take it that ones a newish find? Only got the books this morning but i cant wait to get stuck in to the encyclopedia it looks amazing
  15. as i have just bought a couple of fungi ident books, im wondering can you put books through the books? as they are helping you become better at what you do, therefore making your business more money. or is that a long shot

  19. i had a problem with this too, and i found my id's got better as i started working more and more with the trees, handling the foliage, branches, bark, timber... i guess the more you get stuck in the more you learn
  20. mine covers sarcasm and cheek, but i'd need to pay extra for practical joke or public humiliation insurance.
  21. does your insurance cover winding people up on forums?
