  1. not really, i use those big rubbery buckets from b&q
  2. i travel to every job swinging from tree to tree, without ever touching the ground, so my gear is always in use, thus eliminating the need to carry any kit.
  3. i am a big fan of coronets/ natural fracture pruning, when the cuts are made to look natural i think it looks... well... natural. which is good. and of course the wildlife benefits are obvious. my question is concerning the annual inspection and maintenance of these habitats. what is the average lifespan of one of these mono's, in say a public park or well- used woodland? am i right in saying that at around the time which the mono has to be removed due to safety risk, is probably the same time it reaches its peak in terms of habitat value? ie the more decayed/ dangerous it gets, the more diverse the habitat? what are your thoughts on creating a habitat like this, considering that you will inevitably have to destroy it a couple of years down the line?
  4. right right, by staged fell i thought you meant dismantle. big disclaimer i reckon, make sure they are fully aware of any possible consequences before you go ahead, and get them to sign something that states that it is not your fault if the house goes pear shaped a couple years down the line
  5. what, will they not let you dismantle it for some reason?

  19. right, cheers, i wasnt sure if it was fungi or some sort of gall/ egg sack
  20. alien eggs...? found these on an old stump. small, soft, empty sacs, with an "exit hole" at the bottom any ideas?
  21. im a small town!
  22. looks good! must be nice to do something different for a change. i know a lad that spent one summer installing fairy lights in trees for all the festivals, and another who had a job removing rubbish that had blown into trees next to a tip.
  23. cheers! its definitely an oak, a dying one by the looks of it. lots of dead wood. the colour on the pics is probably a bit off from the flash, . the wet bark (rain) has made it look somewhat darker in the pics, too.
  24. my fav pic of the day (Auricula judae on willow)
