  2. Mr John Dawson striking a pose.
  3. I recon the broad is front of you and you sneeked through the protective fencing that was put up some 15yrs ago:lol: Did you see the 2 hollowed trees just down from the car park?
  4. Thats still 8 seconds off the world record and 6 second of most the experts.
  5. You can do that if you want but you tend to throw the flipline higher as the pole gets thinner so to speak, but it does feel weird as your leaning back a fair bit too when you get near the top.
  6. With a flat file:001_tt2:
  7. He did one in 14 seconds but mainly 16-17 secs, he seemed to have a 6th gear so was hard for most of us (novices) to keep up. We will see if he can keep the pace up on the 100ft poles at the royal welsh.
  8. 17 seconds:thumbup: although the experts were doing it in 10.
  9. Photos are here. Ian Superfly Flatters's Photos - Woodfest 2010 Part 2 | Facebook Ian Superfly Flatters's Photos - Woodfest 2010 | Facebook

I'll post links to the pics later and hopefully will have the head cam footage done by tonight. Cheers to everyone that i met, top bunch of guys:thumbup:
  13. Boots, trousers, glassess and ear muffs thats it for me.
  14. Well storage is as important as milling, Get some ratchet straps 2 or more. Once hes stacked them ratchet them over the spacers really tight to stop warping as i've came a croper with this a few times:thumbdown:. Rob posted some outdoor treatment on 27" milled oak, cant think of what its called off the top of my head:confused1:. Sanding is also very important!! finish is everything IMO. Likewise discussed on here.
  15. Is this the one that was on a thread a few months ago? Have you milled them to 3inches thick?
  16. Rupe, is that one of reg's block drivers hanging off your belt? If so anygood?
  17. I really enjoyed reading the info tony, i looked at the links page and the 1st one took me to arbtalk but theres no label on the tab?
  18. Is there a video of this in use yet? just interseted on how it compares to the stein rc3001?
  19. Here you are i hope this is what you ment?
  20. Yeah a mimosa tree, is the redness at the bottom from mower damage? Not very good in cold winters, maybe just wait and see what it does. Nothing worse than water/feeding/mulching and it still dies = one unhappy client.
  21. What a beautiful tree looks really good with the abbey behind it. Lovely pictures especially the fish eyed shot at the start.
  22. I've seen that first cut used a couple of times (twice in ten yrs to be exact) and was told its called a 'trigger cut'? obviously self explanatory from the video but was told that if your tree was leaning and you were pulling it. It almost eliminates the risk of barbers chair, Simon Macann that's who showed me it. IMO never needed to use it.
  23. I enjoyed watching this video, mainly the sound of the wind rushing through the leaves has a kind of waves on the beach effect for me.
  24. Wow this job must of put some other contractors off doing it, fair play. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdpzMn8od2Q]YouTube - Cypress Wreck.mpg[/ame]
