  2. Accident or Negligance...........The poor bloke paid the ultimate price!! Thoughts at this time should go out to his friends and family!, Im sure any questions will be answered in due course and should not be speculated on a website!
  3. Ive just recently bought a Palax wood processor and a Fordsons Major to run it, unfortunately the yard which I was supposed to be having has pulled out so I am currently screwed, lots of kit lying around earning me diddly squat! good luck with your Japa, if youve got the right wood and enough of it I think it would be hard to screw it up.
  4. What a guy! That was quality!!!
  5. Yep still there, ive had problems with the digital box before but have seemed to get by.
  6. Blades are due for a change but chippa wasnt behaving when newly sharpened blades were fitted, havnt checked flywheel bearings but they are greased on a regular basis, I have a hunch it is fuel related but being a complete non mechanic dont know where to start, thanks for your help. You dont realise how much you need these things until they break!
  7. How do I know if the machine is running full chat? my machine has a sensor on the fly wheel, ive had a quick look at wiring but nothing obvious, as for the stress control, runs fine until you show it a bit of wood! thanks for your help.
  8. Yep mine does have a digital read out but I dont have the 1st idea how to turn it off, thanks for reply.
  9. Sounds a fair shout, other than adjusting the throttle cable is there any other way of tweeking the revs, how do I know when the old boy is running at full chat?
  10. I assume the revs are hitting max, on these machines the rollers dont engage until it does, the rollers are running fine but as soon as you feed anything bigger than 1-2" the stress control kicks in which clearly it shouldnt. Thanks for your help.
  11. Ive got a 6" Kwik Chip hydralic wood chipper, recently the stress control has been kicking in far too soon, I used to be able to feed a fair wack thru but today was a nightmare, took ages to get thru what was realtively small stuff, most of the branches that went thru today were on the whole only around 1-2" and all softwood, ive changed fuel filter, checked revs but then got stuck, if anyone has had a similar problem would you be good enough to point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help.
  12. Listen to Mac, quite clearly knows his stuff, good free advice!!
  13. Steve, as Im new to the firewood game I thought I should invest what is really not alot of money, this tool im sure will become less needed once ive got the eye for the wood as obviously you have, it was just something that I could have to ensure im selling wood as advertised, looking at previous msgs it seems most people speak highly of them, thanks for msg.
  14. Where can I get a moisture meter from for testing logs, ive seen the 1s on ebay for property damp testing and wondered if they were the same, can you advise on any particuar make/ model? Many thanks in advance.

  18. Hi Steve, as a newcomer to ARB site I was wondering how you are getting on with the national log supplier scheme? I have a steady supply of logs from my tree work at the moment but looking for a more definate larger supplier, assuming I can sort this out are you interested in a supplier for your scheme in Torbay, Devon. Thanks. John

  19. Can anyone give me the contact names or numbers where I can buy in timber, sold out of logs for this yr so need to build up stocks for the forthcoming winter, location. Torbay. Devon. Thanks for your help.
  20. Lost count of how many jobs ive lost by just trying to do things right!, I would give TO a bell just to inform him/her of your concern, their ignorance is my bliss!!
  21. Local firm had their lock-up broken into, all power tools gone but left the chipper!?! Firm located in Torbay, Devon. Batton down the hatches!
  22. These guys are well organised, I had an invoice sent from what I thought was ebay confirming the sale and another from moneygram, it wasnt until I pasted the invoices and sent them back to ebay did I find out that it was a scam, I nearly got done for 2k, if anyone is unsure whether the item is legitimate on ebay paste it and send it back to them at [email protected], they will confirm for you within minutes, to be fair to ebay they were top drawer!, you cant stop scum doing what the do, we just have to make it harder for them!!
  23. Be aware of a scam that has been on ebay on and off over the last few months, the item is a Palax wood processor, it is not PTO driven but has its own engine, it has recently appeared in Manchester and previously Falkirk, this item was sold a while back, the scammers have 0 feedback and also demand to be paid via moneygram, Ebay have been informed and I think they have removed the item AGAIN but please be aware.
