  1. What I forgot to add was that since having everything taken a fellow member on Arbtalk ( Al Cormack) has been very kind In letting me use his spare chipper when I needed it. I've also had several phone calls from other members wishing me well. I've always seemed to be able to pick myself up and dust myself off because I could see my business growing. In today's climate however I just can't see me making enough profit to keep paying a bigger mortgage whilst having to restock all my tools! I'm also well aware that there are other people out there who have it a lot tougher than me.
  2. I hate to say it but I'm really suffering at the moment. 2012 was a horrible year for me. An 8 year relationship with the mother of my child (2yr old daughter) ended a week before moving to a new house, having all my tools and chipper stolen( only to find out insurance companies won't pay out.) and then a member of staff cutting open one side of the truck on a bolt sticking out of a field gate finally broke the camels back! Works ok but could be better but what I'm struggling to get to grips with is I don't feel I have the energy to build a business up again( took a long time to earn the money to buy everything and I still owe some to finish paying for the tools I now don't have). I'm also struggling to deal with the fact that the relationship I was in ended. It's knocked me for six! I'm going to phone the Dr and ask for some advice.
  3. I recognise these woods Congrats Paul!
  4. Maybe next time I'll read the link provided! Doh!
  5. Al I took my pair with worn soles to the place in Guildford. Said they couldn't be done. Was it through Honeys about getting then done for £75?
  6. I lent mine to a friend and It's now stuck up A big Beech! He didn't set it up properly but will get it next week!
  7. As High Scale has just written its becoming an absolute joke that this many people are having their kit stolen! It can't just vanish! I've still not had a call from the Police after a second attempted burglary on xmas day!
  8. These people really are Scum. Gutted for you
  9. Start with a rope and harness?! Sorry but couldn't resist replying!
  10. Stubby in no way did I want that to sound offensive to you. Apologies if it did. You might be right and tht it could be someone I know!
  11. I was thinking it might be someone I know....but I genuinely don't think I've p*ssed anyone off. I'm a small company and by no means go out there to take anyone else's work. Where I live there's umpteen firms and everyone seems to be busy. Where I used to live in Guildford I was constantly worried about stuff going missing as there was a local "family" who lived just around the corner. I moved to a quieter place to avoid all of that and look what happens!
  12. Boxing Day.... Go outside to the truck to find a screwdriver next to the drivers door on the drive. Looks like someone's been back to have another go! Assume they got disturbed and left(not that there's anything in the truck!) on Xmas day too!! Animals!
  13. We knew there was some rot at the base and made sure we lowered everything sensibly and on manageable pieces. One of those take your time jobs! I'm going back after Xmas to move all the timber and finish the butt! Thankfully got lots of old chains!
  14. Had to lower everything!
  15. Had an Ash to dismantle today. Just a little bit of rot at the bottom!
  16. In the end Stihl took the saw and sent it back to Germany for MORE testing. I got given a 2006 660 demo saw. It works perfectly which is good as its now the only saw I have left!
  17. Cheers Spud, Paul and everyone else for the kind words. I had a 20ft container delivered on Friday and an having some lights/security cameras/ poachers mines(ssssh) wired in next week. My insurance companies aren't interested so I'll have to start again! Luckily I have a good client base and works good into the new year. I've also had some fellow Arbtalkers offer me machinery/help of which I'm very grateful! Its the reason why this site is a success, there's always someone out there that can offer help, advice or just a bit of banter!!
  18. Thanks Paul. Appreciate it 😄
  19. I started a thread called stealth camera I think I've got a bushells one. Brilliant!! wish I had it at home though after having all my kit stolen!!
  20. Domination for me! (multiplayer gaming before anyone says anything:001_tt2:)
  21. I've got you added rich, Yorkshireman add me jvw76. Putting my daughter to bed then I'll be on later!!
  22. So is there no-ne else on Ps3 whose got BO2? I got rid of my xbox for a Ps3....Fail!
  23. It's not the biggest Job. They cut out an 8ft closeboard panel but it has concrete posts either side that need replacing. It might be for the post and rail next door that got broken too. I'd obviously do it myself but the insurance are settling it.
