  1. Yes he does. I bought some and they're really good quality
  2. Almost finished a big(for me) job felling 47 large Connie's. Managed to get a quad/Arb-trolley combo in, Saved the Lad loads of dragging, new chipper finally running great and to top it off a few people have been round and want all the wood! Happy days!
  3. Deep down I know I should have walked away And yes I do feel stupid for not doing so. Now the machine is working it's great and it will just take that little bit longer before I'm back in profit with it! I'm lucky that everything to do with the sale is in writing which hopefully gives me a case. Suppose I'll have to wait and see...
  4. Green plant ended up fixing it. Touch wood its been great since. I've got it on paper saying that he'll agree to pay any repairs. In the emails I've sent I've said that if he'll pay a grand (final bill over £1600) then I'll be a bit happier. An going to go to citizens advice next week. Should I contact Earborist to see if they have any other details on him?
  5. Morning Just had a very expensive week! Bought my first chipper (1999 Entec through Earborist) off a private seller. Go to pick it up, when I get there he says the chipper needs jump starting as the battery's gone flat. Once going it works fine for a few minutes then the infeed button doesn't work. Tell guy I''ll still take it and agree (on paper) that if any work needs doing to it then he'll pay the bill for repairs. Bring chipper home and go straight to Greenplant so they can identify the problem. They then say that bearings, fins and other electrical problems need sorting, give me an estimate of around £1000. Long and short of it is the bill came over £1.600 Have tried to contact seller with phone calls and Emails and no response. Where do I go from here?? Any help much appreciated Jonny

  7. So that's 1 for and 1 against! Just out of interest what's better Stihl or Husky???
  8. Evening I've been looking at a Vermeer bc 150 chipper. I've been told it's missing the side panels. Obviously Vermeer uk is closed this time of night. Has anyone ever had to buy any for theirs? If so roughly what kind of price am I looking at? Any help would be much appreciated Cheers Jonny:001_smile:

  13. Hi all Does anyone know whose is the Heizohack driving through Guildford? I see him at least once a week but have been unable to stop him and I can't see a phone number on the trailer. Want to get in touch about a job cheers Jonny:001_smile:
  14. got the cheapest oregon one too. hand file mostly but every now and again use it to level cutters out!
  15. Jonathan sounds like Tom D hit the nail on the head:lol:
  16. I appreciate the advice given gents. I wasn't sure what to price it at, so thankyou for the help on that:001_smile: I think I'll keep the wood, split it and try selling it to some of my customers and friends etc over the next couple of years.Where I am seems to be flooded with log suppliers, 2 people especially seem to have the monopoly over the area. It was only ever a project that would keep the bills paid over winter etc. I just seemed to collect a lot more wood than I could deal with at the time! The other reason for trying to shift everything in one go was to put a deposit down on a new (to me ) chipper. However, It now gives me more incentive to make sure my product is the best in my area and even though I realise I can't take on the big boys I can still make a decent turn over with what I've already accumulated. Like everything, It's just going to take a bit longer than expected! Failing that I'll have enough firewood to keep me warm for a while! Jonny:001_smile:
  17. Can't do delivery. How much would you say it's worth a tonne?
  18. Hello I have this pile of Beech for sale(cut late Nov). I'm guesstimating it to be about 15 tonne ( please correct me if you think this is wrong) I need to shift it as I now have too much wood to deal with! I'd also like to shift some of the Birch in the photo too(cut early this year). it's in 2m lengths. I'm again guessing there's more than 5 tonne there. Price wise I'd like £50 a tonne for it please. would really like it to go in one hit also. Everything under the green tarp is staying tho! Pm for more details Thankyou Jonny:001_smile:
  19. I got one a few weeks back after reading rave reviews on here! It's that good I'm gonna sell my petrol logsplitter!
  20. Is there anyone nearby so that I can have a browse at their chipper:001_huh: Looked at the bandit today and was impressed. Just want to see the Vermeer too!
  21. Tom I'll be giving you a bell tomorrow night to chat about the vermeer if that's still ok?
  22. Hi I'm looking for a second hand chipper. Tomorrow I'm going to Big Chip to look at a Bandit 65xl and I've seen Thorne engineers have a Vermeer 935 for sale. I've read reviews on here about both machines and will be speaking to a member on here about the 935. Does anyone near Guildford have one i could have a look at? A drive to York at the minute would be crazy! Also if anyone could give me any ideas which would be the better machine then I'll be glad to hear them. I realise one's a 9" and ones a 6":001_tongue:) Thankyou in advance Jonny:001_smile:
