  1. Still dont understand how dealer cant get hold of a machine for you to demo! had Arbtrak 200 on site last week with no probs.
  2. I tried to get a 280 tftr out on demo to be told that it was unavailable! eh!
  3. I agree, but we seem to live in a throw away society where a lot of stuff not just tree gear is not made very well.
  4. Did you find out what the problem was Mick?
  5. You could live in that tool locker.
  6. Were not that posh with blower, only have a small 1 Thought about putting a box inside the tipping body and access it through drop down sides but again end up loosing chip space.
  7. Bit buggered with bigger trucks as diesel tanks & batteries take up room under the body
  8. Trying to get some ideas for tool storage for a 7.5t tipper, don't wanna start cutting to body down for a tool locker sounderbody is the only other way I can think of.
  9. Wakefield council were asked to remove a huge tree on a golf club that was council owned, the tree was causing structural issues with a private property which was proved on a report. The council wouldn't remove said tree off their own back but said that if the customer paid they would remove the tree causing problems, they also said they had no issue with a private contractor doing the work. Luckily for us the gentleman who owned the property told the council to do 1 and we removed it. From what I know this has happened a lot in the past few years. I can understand trying to be self sufficient but a la paid from the public pocket competing against private funded contractors has wrong wrote all over it!
  10. Really happy with the little isuzu we have so I have spoke to dealer about new & used ones. Old 1 has an ali brittipp body but 2bh a cheap back and underbody storage will have to do.
  11. After thinking about the bigger vehicle route for some time I think that all though its more hassle in the short term, to make the business more profitable and keep us on site earning instead of off tipping eating into earnings I cant see how we can continue without a bigger truck!
  12. So 20+k for a brand new chipper that has new electronic control unit, ignition switch, bearings bodged so they fit, tin work on chute cracked and tin work around flywheel broke on a machine with 270 hours on that has being well looked after is acceptable? I cant afford to have a machine in bits always worrying if it will break down, warranty is great but its still time were not working due to a breakdown, still time wasted waiting for an engineer, I personally don't have confidence in the brand No more which is a shame because when its working it chips great.
  13. As far as I am.aware you can pay a fee to get stuff fast tracked!
  14. I got a shallow socket given from forst with my st6, still a ball ache to undo.

    St6

There will be crap stuck behind the shaft for the roller, use the bar provided to open the rollers while someone removes the obstruction with a thin bar of somesort.
  16. Volvo? is it ex mod?
  17. Why so many bearings?
  18. True but to a lot of people given the choice to spend £1000 or just get another van will choose the van every time...whats outreach on crane? looks cool.
  19. DVSA Application Fee £257 Public Notice Fee £350 (approx) DVSA Granting Fee £401 Call it a grand...how much does it cost to run a transit?
  20. You have an arborist 200 or arbtrak?
  21. I think they you can have either on Gm machines?
  22. If they are better than the rest why are all manufacturers not using them.
  23. Its easy to go and buy a 3.5 toner and use it as a work vehicle, mot tax & insurance your away, in reality 3.5t allows for a 1- 1.5t payload inc tools, body , fuel, passengers, nose weight of trailer...most people will be overweight not just tree folk, the vehicle is not fit for purpose. Why make it so expensive to obtain an o licence, inspections in reality are a small inconvenience all this crap about having to enter & exit operating centre in a forward gear is bollocks! ive being reversing in for years with the van, this again makes it difficult to do things legitimately as its another financial cost to bare. If things were easier and cheaper and dvsa would help instead of trying to catch the working man out maybe nobody would be running around overloaded.
  24. Why do you prefer the flat ones?
  25. Is their any benefit to greenmech blades being round over standard flat blades? What are they like in the real world chipping & maintenance?
