  1. A bit of fencing we did last week, not a trellis fan but it does look different.
  2. I have got around 200 concrete posts to put in on a job and wanna try make it a bit easier by hiring a petrol auger hand held...what are they like? Should imagine it depends on type of ground
  3. Ha ha...will be sure to tell bank manager that when i cannot pay mortgage
  4. But what if you spend x amount of £££ and a load of money making it usable then you get found out and stuck with a piece that's not fit for purpose?
  5. I am willing to make sacrifices...and pay the money but if the only land available is either in built up areas, green belt or industrial that i simply cannot afford then what do you do? i spend hours on the net trawling for stuff, on google earth looking for bits then having a wander over, i have knocked on doors and offered 8 times what i know they purchased it for from land registry buy to no avail! The most annoying thing is there is a house with 2 acres attached within 100 yards of were i live but as its in green belt i am knackered! Soul destroying!!!
  6. Council just built bypass and land for sale for new industrial units through a load of green belt! when i looked into re using a piece of land that was used as a small scrap yard years gone by i was told no as its in greenbelt! Even planning solicitor said its ridiculous! Unless you have tons of money your ******!
  7. Pretty much the same around here, every bit either has planning or is the bottom of somebody's garden! i would mortgage the land as like bob says its an investment.
  8. Seems to be a lot of folk renting for nowt, £25 per week is nowt for all that..
  9. I knew some vans were easy to get into but i didn't know how they opened the doors until i heard radio 1 news who told you the name of the key and how easy it is to buy! 10 seconds on google i had found where to buy it and a video of how to use it! wtf!

    What mowers.

Sites vary from.what I have seen , some collect some cut and drop. I was hoping to buy something that collects then at least we have the capability if necessary. Do the mulching decks just chop it up finer?
  11. Funny you should say that, I have just found out that for the last 20 years the land has being used for vehicle storage amongst other things without the correct permissions! Buildings are up after having planning permission rejected. I can now understand why it is super private and the front of the site visible from the road is unkept. I can see me moving everything up there just to get reported! Its really starting to affect business the lack of space!

    What mowers.

Do John Deere make a high tip 1 ? i drove them years ago on council, but that was just cut & drop.
  13. Possibly starting our first ever grounds maintenance contract shortly...ive done tons of it before but am not up to date with mowers atm. Looking for 2 walk behind mowers and a ride on what do you recommend? I like the look of the Kubota with high tip grass box, I dont want nothing cheap or crappy some thing that is robust and will take a bit of punishment.
  14. That's what i am talking about, a sensible size...true bigger would be better but not on a vehicle this size. I didn't realise that some are fairly light.
  15. What cranes are others using on their tippers? i dont want something massive as its going to eat into payload, only ever seen palfinger ones .
  16. Yes, its being welded up badly before, i dont wanna take the ram off to bring it back to weld it so was hoping to clean it and seal it in situ. And yes a weld would be better...
  17. Got a small pin sized hole on a hydraulic ram is it possible to bodge it up temporarily with some sort of epoxy glue
  18. Towing for space where we currently are and the log / space for anything is just not good. I would like more room to stock pile chip, a local place to park the wagon, this place is a mile away compared to 7 where I am now.
  19. Nobody wants to part with owt nowadays
  20. What do you pay to rent your yard? Being offered around 3/4 of an acre hard standing small shed super private water & electric for £100 a week. Seems reasonable but I could be wrong
  21. Sounds like a sensible idea...everything is so bloody expensive!
  22. How do you go on with supplying new employees with ppe? i have had a lad last 6 weeks before deciding its not for him! this is after spending around £350 on ppe. As i understand its a legal requirement to provide them with ppe to which i don't mind paying for if they stay. Its ot as if you can buy a pair of £20 arco boots and a 310 pair of trousers:sneaky2:
  23. Still dont understand how dealer cant get hold of a machine for you to demo! had Arbtrak 200 on site last week with no probs.
