  2. Lamma 2011 at Newark on 19/20th Jan 2011. While it is mostly big farmer boys toys Marshall Ag Eng will be on Stand 136 Hall1 with a selection of forestry/arb/firewood and other machines. We look forward to seeing you there!!
  3. Correct but on a Thor the ram diameter wont be any bigger.
  4. The system operating pressure on the 18 tonner with pump is 250 bar. Most tractors (even new ones) have max hydraulic pressure of 200-220bar. Therefore your 18 tonner would no longer be an 18 tonner!!!
  5. I can get you details of some one who has been using a Vahva Jussi 320 on a little Kubota. Marshall Agricultural Engineering have them in stock.
  6. Gasifying biolers will burn any wood as long as its dry( if possible 20%) otherwise the performance (heat output and flue staying clean ) drops off.
  7. M Large supplied a number of eagles with Kohler 10hp engines with 2:1 reduction on the engine which allowed the use of a larger diameter engine pulley. If you can find 1 of these it s the best 1 . The honda versions were 5.5 or 6.5hp and are a little under powered. They still do the job though.
  8. These have points ignition which needs a special tool to make setting easier. The points setting is fairly critical for best performance. The carb settings are also tricky to get right, but when these are on song they are a cracking saw. My mate's first saw was a 112 and it did a huge amount of work with very few problems. I may be able to source a manual and some other bits . Will pm you if I find anything.
  9. The most important thing is to make sure that the bed is square.(measure the diagonals) If possible assemble the bed on a flat surface., as this makes it easier to assemble every thing accurately. The instructions are good. Its better to spend a bit of extra time spent in careful assembly than trying to break the record for speed. Allow at least a day for 2 people. The frames are very strong as long as they are on a solid , flat surface. The log clamping system is better on the new mills. For accurate sawing make sure the bed is level using a long spirit level. Happy sawing!!!!
  10. The 1x-42 is a very different machine from the 1x-37. Belt life on IX-37 can be improved by keeping chains sharp and regularly retensioning the belts. Early machines had aluminium pulleys which wear quickly and then devour belts. Current machines use steel pulleys, and older machines can be retrofitted with these. Best belt are Mitsuboshi AX38 from the gearbox.
  11. I've been to the Jake factory a few years ago. The quality of engineering and attention to detail is first class. The Jake frame keeps the tractor 3pt linkage free and the crane can be demounted (with a bit of work) if necessary. They make kits for most tractors and will supply the mounting plate pre drilled to suit what ever crane you are using. Before you order send the tractor serial no and take photos of the underside so that the mounting brackets suit as there are variations in tractor specs. JL is not the only dealer for Jake frames. Most of the crane suppliers also offer them.
  12. The thinggy in question is the Westtech L700.You can go to the Westtech website WESTTECH Maschinenbau GmbH - Forsttechnik | Fertigungstechnik for more info or contact Marshalls on 01892770788 for a brochure or dvd:thumbup1:
  13. Is the splitter operating normally as the saw returns or are you having to use the foot pedal to activate the splitting cycle?
  14. The new KRPan winches from Marshall Agricultural are well built and would be worth a look. Basic 7 tonne is less than 3k.
  15. Binderberger do stand alone log conveyors with either electric or hydraulic drive. length is 4 metres and belt can be either 25 or 40cm wide prices from£2126 +vat. Pm me for more details.
  16. Hi all I will be attending the show with Marshall Agricultural Engineering who are exhibiting in the forestry section (Avenue P stand no 171). We will have a selection of Binderberger and Dalen firewood processors and log splitters on show as well as the new KRPan winches. We look forward to meeting any arbtalkers who are coming to the show and we even have a limited stock of free base ball caps (first come first served)!!!!

    Husky 51

Has it a white top cover or a grey top cover?
  18. Binderberger Gigant 30Z is £7200 +vat
  19. The log is there because the transport bracket has been lost. This happened on a regular basis at the last place I worked. They had 2 x252s. The Kohler engine is the biggest source of trouble on these stump grinders. Brilliant when they are running properly but a right pain when they're not.
  20. No this is the first time I have searched for an engine.
  21. Does any one have an engine or a block for a Holder A55 or is there an other engine which would fit?
  22. Hi All Speaking as someone who has many years of experience sorting firewood machine problems, using a bar and chain per load of firewood is not normal!! The following are things to look out for 1 Make sure that oil is getting to the chain. You may need to clean the bar groove and oiler holes more regularly than you are doing at present. Run the machine with the bar and chain off to see if enough oil is flowing from the tank. In very cold weather you may need to use thinner oil. 2 On processors the cutting chains need to be sharpened accurately. More so than on a normal hand held chainsaw. The symptom of an incorrectly sharpened chain on a processor is, the chain will cut the depth of the bar and then needs a lot of pressure to continue cutting or may not want to go any deeper in the cut. Some people can sharpen accurately by hand using files. Some people are better to use a chain grinder. 3 On machines with hydraulic controls and adjustable pressure it is easy keep increasing the cutting pressure as the chain gets dull. This causes increased wear on the bars and streches the chain. So sharpen the chain when cutting performance drops off. (keep 2-3 spare sharp chains and change them when necessary) 4 Turn the bars regularly and clean off any burrs etc using a flat file. Keep the chain properly tensioned as a loose chain whips as it goes around the bar and causes burrs as well as increasing the chances of a chain coming off. I hope these pointers will improve matters for you . If you would like more info drop me a PM with the make and model of your machine as some processors are affected by specific problems.
  23. I have 3 new bumper spikes for dolmar 153. Any one who wants 1 send me a PM
