  3. What a great idea!
  4. Anthracnose?
  5. Periwinkle? hmmm woody stem? Maybe not
  6. Working now! Lol. Though maybe should be on the overloaded thread, or the new pro tipper!
  7. Might well do that this summer due to better havs from what I can remember. How did you break the chainbrake Stubs?
  8. Another shout for the 550xp, splendid wee saw! I myself had major reservations about the autotune stuff, but if you have concerns, buy one and sell it on the bay when its two years old and get another one.
  9. Triple combi type. One big, one small.
  10. It sure is. I was not the biggest fan of mewps, like some having to control your breathing to prevent boom bounce! This thing is rock solid, and the way it can defy physics by articulating around corners is stunning. We knocked the whole job out from one position. The main aspect about this particular setup, is the operator your getting as part of the package. I have taken my IPAF, I can make a Nifty-lift or Simons dance, but Shaune takes things to the next level. He is very cool, calm and collective. He knows his machinery, and he has great knowledge of tree mechanics and the art of rigging.
  11. Lol! Made me look again, several as in more than one day! Seriously though, I thrive off the big tech dismantles, but this old black pop has been shedding limbs randomly over the last 18 months. A lot of the job was free fall, but some parts were overhanging a ornamental garden with a sea of Sainsbury bags tied around saplings directly in the drop zone. One look at the job and was, "why put my life at risk for this?" So in came the MEWP.
  12. Had Shaune and his extremely versatile machine on a dismantle last week. For a job which normally taken several days, we had it all complete by one o'clock! Not only on the time saving scale of things, but how much more safer the job was to perform. Massive energy savings as well. This guy really knows his machine and rigging practice, cutter in the basket needs not think on where the next cut is, as Shaune is already there! A true credit to the industry, and we shall certainly be pricing in this machine on any knarly trees that come along. Thanks Shaune, made it a pleasure. Tom
  13. was thinking this myself.
  14. Having been using a 550xp for most of the day, i cant rate it highly enough. Cracking saw, light, agile, low vibration, fast, powerful, good on fuel.
  15. Many thanks for your notes of understandings. So much of this sort of thing going on, we all know about it, but when it hits home its a wake up call too late! Digging out the serial numbers is going to be fun due to the ages of some of the kit. Scrapping the barrel this year, so looking for decent s/h replacements. Ideal world: climbing saw, 50cc, 70cc if anybody knows of owt? Tom.
  16. Writing this with a lump in my throat,, opened up shop this morning to discover our lock-up had been ran-sacked. Kit noticed gone so far: Stihl 180, 024, 038, 020t, 200t, 038, vacuum, blower, Alpina 900pro, pole chainsaw, big stihl strimmer, Kona blink mtb, five helmets. Every flipping chainsaw i own. Not a happy Tom.
  17. If its a Loadbeta, from what i remember: Pug engine, Rover brakes, Merc gearbox, Mazda switches, Sierra steering wheel and a hand molded center console!! Great trucks, wish i never got rid of mine.

  20. The answers in the middle!
  21. Depends on definition. On paper yes, due to upbringing. Beleive in that there was a Nazarene called Jesus who walked the planet around two thousand years ago, then yes. Does this make me a christian? I prefer not to be pigeon holed due to the confines of a set body of people, but i do beleive that there is an energy that we can all channel into for enlightenment. Keep an ever evolving open mind.
  22. 1b and maybe 3b
  23. Has anybody tried the stihl one?
  24. I have been offered one in mint condition for £190.....i was wondering how good/bad is the vibration on these saws are? Or am i better off saving my pennies and buying a new ms261?
