  5. there was a chap who got into trouble with council near me as he was keeping them in his front garden on nearby council house estate, do you have to own a field or some land or something?
  6. subsistance means £5 everyday for sandwiches etc, taxman wrote to me a couple of years ago to let me know i was putting through a lot of car maintainance.. thats cos i was doing a lot of car maintainance (parts etc) it would have been more if id paid someone else to do it-idiots. then my accountant tells me he wants to adjust figures like put phonebill up and fuel/sandwiches down, so i wouldnt get investigated.. id rather the books were right if im investigated thanks
  7. saw some powered stop n go boards at the weekend (east coast), never seen any before, wonder if they could have a remote control with double 'stop' function?
  8. cheapo garmin...crap, ages for signal and wont recognise a lot of postcodes. nice shiny red colour
  9. another one today, spiked up conifer to dismantle, crown lifted to about 12ft, then spotted nest after flappy wood pigeon flew off scared, couple of eggs so left branches up to 3ft below them, try again in about 8wks or so..
  10. id ask if its going spare to a good home.. then try to swap it for some tree work, then go home empty handed wishing i had the money and space for it..
  11. think the newly installed sunlight would encourage it to 'leaf up' in the inner bits of the shadow side.. then it can be cut back later when its ready.
  12. not an expert on chainspeed and stuff but i can cut wood faster with a 16inch bar/chain on the ms460 than the 25inch, flies through it..
  13. walked away from a connybashing job last wk because of 5 occupied nests, shame..i was going to enjoy it..
  14. back to the stems should do it, would do one side at a time though, stems should sprout back pretty soon..
  15. sounds obvious but this time of year try to use cambium saver, to erm save the cambium..

  17. think i'll carry on blaming the dog steve, unless you think im also to blame for the missing vinyl on my seats, the back chewed off my haix's, the holes in my hosepipe and the wet dog smell on my sofa..
  18. well the sheep and stuff in the silhouette is clearly a hit, but does it come close to sunset filtered through dog-drooled window at 60mph on the m6?

  20. waste of good firewood haha, amazing what one man can do with a lump of wood given a bit of imagination and a lot of skill..
  21. am i right in thinking you need to drain oil from each side and refill with a 'one-shot' of grease? then it can't leak anymore..
