  1. i had one the other way round haha, the local handyman said he would knock down a large beech tree for free for the firewood, i got the job for £1800 and got the wood for free. chin up dude it'll never catch on proper unless they get trained and insured:001_smile:
  2. a tonne at least, its not all burry but theres some nice chunks:001_cool:
  3. just bid me if the stuff looks good to you:thumbup:
  4. i'll do almost anything for money, including wood delivery:001_smile:
  5. good luck getting through the yorkshire border rob.. hope your passport is in order?
  6. make it twelve haha, i won't have seen the wife in over a week and we'll be ready for having a right good session of argueing..
  7. anytime except early.! i'm working away all this week so might need me beauty sleep friday night,
  8. its at slaithwaite, they are mostly big chunks but i can cut them to size with chainsaw easy enough for ya, there may be some brambles in the way but the wood will be worth it:001_cool:.give me a call saturday sometime. 07747022678
  9. i know where there is some very burry elm in the round, im back in hudds at the wknd if you want me to show you? Ed.
  10. green traffic lights and no queues for one whole journey then i can die happy:driver:
  11. my car insurance went down £900 3yrs ago for no reason, the womans disco insurance went up over £300 this year, then two days later she wiped out a new fiesta from end to end at 1mph while backing out of a space at sainsburys, couldn't help thinking i might have got my moneys worth this year, not even a scuff on the disco haha, im sure they will sting us again nextyear but till then happy motoring:thumbup: oh if you see a green discovery at the supermarket in hudds do not park near it...
  12. cool, the perfect coffee table fly swatter:thumbup:
  13. Kat1e, here's a vid of what my landy will do all day every day, i daren't say what it carries and tows but they are the mutts for what you asked for. you should find a defender in your price range, i'd go for a 110 for towing and carrying as they are comfier and don't bounce as much as the 90's, i might be biased but there's a good reason:001_cool: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcvrL9bgeDs]YouTube - landy mud bath[/ame]
  14. you could heat up the woodchip and extract the gas for powering the engine, then burn the (now dry) woodchip as fuel to heat the next fresh chip, very simple and very little waste:thumbup: see the woodgas thread for links
  15. landy landy landy:thumbup:
  16. probably not, he just wants a different toy till he's bored of it, i used it more than him this year (250miles) but if you want an injected rover v8 im sure my mate has one lying around somewhere, he just put a 3.9 auto in his 101, and only runs v8's in his defenders.
  17. dunno about engine miles but its injected and on a four speed rangie box so top speed is erm a tad loud:001_tt2:
  18. beer sounds good, just don't invite any of them arbchatters or there won't be any beer left.!
  19. if the exhaust is stupid money, go to your local exhaust dealer (not the fastfit type) the older the better, i used to work at one and we made custom pipes for anything classic cars, kit cars, bikes, dragsters, generators and whatever came noisily through the door
  20. i have a v8 defender to sell for my bro, the engine is too small for him, its not on gas.. anyone feeling like they want to burn some excess fuel before we run out?
  21. yr not wrong there, im bashing trees on my dads land, here till friday unless i break something else on the landy:thumbup: i think i know where you are, is it that spot with loads of dinky trees both sides of the road?
  22. haha im in dalbeattie too:001_tt2:
  23. didn't feel it here in dumfries, there was a few shakes earlier though shortly after each back cut, clearfelling big birches so they were falling thick and fast:001_tt2:
  24. then the roads will be quiet enough for the rest to cruise around at the optimum speed for fuel economy, unlike the journey back from a job 15miles away a few weeks ago using only low range 1st&2nd because of queues:thumbdown: stop/start driving all the way with a full load and loaded trailer:thumbdown:
  25. make it a £5 a litre, it'll get the peasants off the road, readily available cheap oil got them on the road in the firstplace
